    Not great this time

    rating24 May 2026

I dont normally bother too much with reviews but i will make an exception on this occasion. Stayed at this hotel a number of times and have been bowled over at how kelsey dowd at reception has resolved various problems ive had. No issue too small for this bright young girl...which is more than can be said for a duty manager that refused to give me anything other than 2 small breakfast plates...she eventually gave me two larger ones when i gently told her i had this year up to 25th may stayed at 65 holiday inns. Now im not an awkward guest but i just wanted her to know that i spend thousands of pounds a year at ihg hotels...maybe a larger plate shouldn't be an issue? Regardless of how many stays , guests should be allowed to have access to a large plate if they order food from outside the hotel. I have reason to believe the new general manager Brian has implemented this new policy. Bravo brian... youve really turned things around. Im Just really disappointed. Apart from that , decent hotel , really nice helpful staff on the whole.

Met a friend for a quick drink, no clear signs of consequences of parking fines, don't usually expect it from main hotels with lots of parkimg spaces, didn't expect a £100 fine for being there 1hr 20mins, trying to phone them constantly no answer,, will hope my feedback will give make them put clearer signs up,, they no doubt hide them to get money out of drivers who go there for a quick drink or meal, I'll not be paying the fine IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Glasgow - East Kilbride by IHG, responded to this review Hi Culture31237785660,Thank you for sharing your experience at our Holiday Inn Glasgow - East Kilbride. Could Do Better

    rating23 Apr 2026

We stayed here as part of an event so were booked in for two nights. We booked a king room and were allocated Room 44 on the ground floor. Reception and checking in went well. Our room was spacious but it was cold. There is a system where you have to put your card in to turn on the heating (this wasnt explained and we had to find this out ourselves) - to be fair you can ask for a heater if you find it cool. Spacious bed and a clean room. There were a few things that could have been better. There was no magnifying mirror in the bathroom, although there was a bracket for one. The back of the bathroom door was damaged by water and had not been repaired and there was wallpaper loose in the main room. There was an evening welcome event and the food, to see the least was basic - fried fish and chips, curry in a very gloopy sauce and macaroni cheese. The only saving grace was a 'salad bar'. The route to the event was through various rooms and one of them had glass windows and was full of linen and boxes - didnt look the best. Our nights sleep was peppered by the road noise. Breakfast was disappointing. The room was full of tatty chairs which all need to be replaced. The faux leather was cracking and it just looked very sad. The usual fried offering of a full Scottish breakfast which my husband opted for. The beans were cold and the fried scone was poor. I opted for the separately cooked porridge and poached eggs which were very nice. The offering was large but nothing really different. There was a dinner the second night which was better than the Friday evening welcome buffet. Our second morning breakfast was interesting - they had run out of eggs! Apparently the delivery hadnt arrived - I couldnt understand why someone couldnt go out and buy some eggs! I visited the leisure centre, which is also a private club. The gym was well equipped although it was over a couple of floors - there was no explanation by the staff on the desk where everything was and there were classes on but no explanation as to how to access them. As it was a Saturday the pool was busy with families so I didnt use the pool. All in all we were pleased when our stay came to an end. On the positive the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, although Reception couldnt advise on buses from the hotel to Glasgow. In the end we used the phone at Reception to call a taxi and discovered there was a fixed rate (£23) to go to Glasgow, so we opted for that, although again no one told us about this. We did not think it was value for money. Overall not a great stay and I dont think we would stay here again. February visit

    rating23 Feb 2026

I can’t really fault this hotel. I actually swapped to this hotel after checking into the Ramada East Kilbride which was awful and this felt like and definite upgrade. Staff really friendly and I felt safe as a lone female traveller, would highly recommend.
