    Budget hotel charging premium rates.

    rating13 Jun 2026

We booked this hotel in September 2025 for a one night stay in June 2026.Take That were performing at Hampden Park and Scotland were playing in the World Cup at 2am on the Sunday morning. We paid £214 for a one night stay for each room for our party of 4 adults. Unfortunately the premium rate didn’t match the hotel especially the facilities in the room.It is common for a kettle in rooms and I can’t remember ever not having a kettle and coffees in rooms at hotels we have stayed at.A budget hotel charging premium rates and we won’t be going back to this budget hotel.

    Good hotel

Good hotel, excellently located with plenty of shops, bars restaurants nearby. Room was on the smaller side and definitely could do with some uplifts. Base of shower was cracked, decoration in the room was dated but suited our needs of using it as a base. All staff were super friendly, no iron in room but they did have an ironing room that could be accessed 24/7.

Feels like you are sleeping in one of those pods in the airport. That’s not a good thing. Couldn’t be less impressed.

Skip it. Tries to be modern while skimping on typical amenities. Self serve front desk and no windows. No thanks.

    Point a hotel

Not too far to walk from Glasgow Queen St station. Very central and plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance. You can choose a room with or without a window, but all have en-suite shower room. The shower looks like a tin can, and it wasn't the best for water output but better than nothing. There are hairdryers in all the rooms, tv, a pulldown table if you were possibly eating in.Staff were friendly and can't fault them. The hotel as said very central but the rooms maybe need a little paint to freshen up.

    Sconsigliatissimo

I stayed at this hotel two weeks ago for two nights, choosing it with confidence after a very positive experience at the same chain in Edinburgh. For this reason, the disappointment was even greater. The property feels dated and, above all, poorly maintained. Several details speak for themselves: the safe with a damaged panel, the TV practically unusable due to constant signal issues, and an overall sense of neglect throughout the room. The most critical aspect, however, was cleanliness. The floor was dirty, shelves and surfaces were visibly dusty, and the bed sheets did not feel fresh at all and even had visible stains (as shown in the photos). Considering the price paid, this is difficult to justify. The bathroom, fortunately, was clean and well kept – one of the very few positive aspects.Service did not help improve the experience. Upon arrival, the reception staff appeared unprofessional: one staff member was busy on his phone and barely asked for our details, while another was sitting on the sofa in front of the desk, also distracted by his phone. The same situation occurred again at check-out. This attitude conveyed a clear lack of attention towards guests.During the stay there was noise due to external works; however, I do appreciate that the management informed us in advance with a letter in the room. A thoughtful gesture, but not enough to offset the overall discomfort.Afterwards, I noticed that other guests have reported similar issues, especially regarding cleanliness and maintenance, which suggests these are not isolated incidents.Overall, this stay fell well below expectations and does not reflect either the price paid or the standards one would expect from this hotel chain. With better maintenance, improved cleaning, and more attentive service, the hotel could improve significantly, but in its current state, I would not recommend it.
