Not so great experience, could have been better

    rating22 Mar 2026

Booked this place from 22-23 Mar 2026. I had stayed here last year and really liked it. This time, it was not the same. Pillows and towels were not as clean as they should have been, bed was not made properly (the sheet was not tucked in properly and lumped up in the middle) - looked hastily done w/o proper care, pillow was lumpy as well, lint or dirt stuck to the pillow cases, hair on towel, soap-dispenser in the bathroom not functioning at all, etc. Getting all this sorted took an hour so I was late to go to bed. Also, the pull-down shelf was deteriorating. I was annoying to have lost time which nobody can replace. However, the staff member was beyond kind and tried to help as best as she could. The house-keeping staff needs to be much better! I will think twice before booking this place. Also, space is so limited in the room there is no space to put luggage down. However, I have to admit, the price was great to sleep here one night and come straight to the office in Canary Wharf. Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, responded to this review Dear GuestThank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet the standards you experienced during your previous visit. Please accept our sincere apologies for the issues you encountered with the cleanliness and preparation of your room, including the condition of the pillows, towels, bedding, and the non-functioning soap dispenser. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to spend time getting these matters resolved, especially when it delayed your rest.We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we will definitely take your feedback into serious consideration. Your comments have been passed on to both our housekeeping team and maintenance manager to ensure these issues are addressed promptly and that our rooms are maintained to the high standards we expect. We are pleased to hear that our team member was able to assist you kindly during your stay, and we will make sure her efforts are recognised. We also understand your comments regarding the limited space in the room. As a budget hotel, we do offer compact rooms, but we appreciate that this may not suit every guest’s needs.Thank you again for your honest feedback. We genuinely value your comments and hope we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us should you choose to stay again in the future.Kind regards,Jennifer

    Mediocre experience

    rating20 Mar 2026

My partner and I recently stayed here as we needed a hotel close to the O2 arena, where we were attending a concert. The positive points were the location, friendly staff and bar/reception orea, and the bar opening times - we were pleased that we could enjoy a drink in the bar/lobby area after returning from the concert. We were also impressed with the cleanliness. The things that we didn't like so much were the continental breakfast, as we would have liked hot food. We were disappointed that our room didn't have any toiletries other than soop (and soap in the shower that could also be used as shampoo). We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities and/or a bottle of water in the room. The main issue however was the size of our room. It was tiny and we found it claustrophobic. We believe it should have been a single room, and not a double. When we attended a concert at the O2 previously, we stayed at a budget hotel, nearby, which we felt was much better value for money. We also disliked having to make the booking online and had to ring the hotel twice when the online booking wouldn't go through. We would have preferred to have made a telephone booking. So, mixed feelings about this hotel. But, we wouldn't return as we preferred the budget hotel we used previously, so will stay there next time we need a hotel in the Canary Wharf area. Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, responded to this review Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed some aspects of your stay, particularly the friendly staff, convenient location, bar etc. It’s always encouraging to know what we’re doing well. We’d like to clarify a few points you raised. Our continental breakfast is designed to be a light option, typically consisting of coffee, bread rolls, butter, and jam, which we do provide. It does not include hot food, and we apologise if this was not made clear prior to your stay.As a budget hotel, we aim to offer all the essential amenities needed for a comfortable visit, such as soap, shampoo, a hairdryer, Wi-Fi, and an iron available upon request. While tea and coffee-making facilities or bottled water are not included in the rooms, these are available to purchase at reception. We also want to highlight that we are a hotel offering compact rooms. We do our best to communicate this clearly so guests know what to expect. Although the rooms are small, they are thoughtfully equipped to provide everything needed for a good night’s sleep.Regarding bookings, we do not take reservations over the phone. This policy is in place to protect guest privacy and to avoid any misunderstandings. By handling bookings online, we can ensure that all details are clearly documented and can be referred back to if needed.Thank you again for your comments. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.Kind regards,Jennifer

    A great find

    rating23 Feb 2026

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay here. excellent value for money and great location for Canary Wharf. We had a ground floor accessible room which although small was perfectly suitable. An earlier reviewer was either unlucky or the hotel has improved its service for disabled guests. We didn't have 'a view' from our window. The staff were superb, friendly and helpful. The breakfast excellent and the public areas very pleasant for a short stay. The hotel has no parking, not even to drop off luggage, and frustratingly the trading estate car park was empty at weekends but for permit holders only. Parking is available at a price nearby however.Visitors need to be aware there is no tea or coffee in the rooms, which are small but adequate for a short stay. The hotel is quite mean with its towels so you have to ask for hand towels for example. Also the rooms aren't serviced daily.

    Lovely place

    rating22 Feb 2026

It’s a lovely hotel . You have to pay for your luggage to be kept which is a pain as most London hotels don’t charge for this service . The staff were really friendly and we were happy with our stay .We were at the basement floor and it was lovely big enough for 2. We are coming back this year but should be on a floor with a window fingers crossed . The breakfast was continental like most places . I was hoping for a fry up but it didn’t matter ! It is similar to the eazy hotels where they change your sheets and towels every 4 days to help the environment! Now I think this is great but I do like clean towels every day but this is something f you can ask reception for .It was pretty quiet but you could hear on the basement floor when people were opening and closing their doors in the morning . It is clean however and isn’t far from the Elizabeth line . The only down side is there isn’t much around at the moment . This is due to more building being built etc . But I am sure this will change . I wasn’t a fan of the walk in the night to the Elizabeth line it was well lit up . But its cobble stone path so made it hard to walk. This isn’t the hotels fault at all ! We can’t wait to stay again . The bar is open 24/7 and reception . Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, responded to this review Dear Alexandra M,Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear that you had a lovely stay and that our team made you feel so welcome. It’s great to know you found your room clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for two, even on the basement floor, and that you enjoyed the overall quiet atmosphere. We really appreciate your feedback regarding luggage storage. We understand this can be inconvenient, and your comments are valuable as we continually review our services and guest experience. We’re also pleased you recognise and support our environmentally friendly housekeeping approach. As you mentioned, additional towel changes or servicing can absolutely be arranged with reception at any time, our team is always happy to help.Thank you as well for your balanced comments about the surrounding area and ongoing development. While there is some ongoing development in parts of the area, our neighbourhood is actually a great location with plenty of shops, restaurants, and local amenities nearby, and it continues to grow and improve. It’s wonderful to hear you’ll be returning this year!  Please feel free to contact us directly before your stay and we’ll do our very best to accommodate your preference. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, with our bar and reception open 24/7 ready for you! ✨Kind Regards,Dhiovana
