Location

This hotel is situated within 2 minutes walk of Stansted airport's main terminal, which may be reached by passing along a covered passageway. The Stansted Express takes just 45 minutes to travel to London Liverpool Street and the historic centre of Cambridge may be reached in 30 minutes

    I would have expected a much more professional approach to guests in such a 4 star hotel. Such an older lady was in front of me at check in and the gentleman at check in explained everything about the hotel. When it was my turn the gentleman from the reception looked at me disgustingly and measured me from head to toe, I probably didn't look rich enough!! He said Hi very coldly and when I told him that I had booked one room here for one night he told me that we don't have any rooms!! I think it was very personal, I guess I wasn't the rich clientele that goes there!! So I explained to him again that I have a reservation here, then finally he coldly replied that the documents!! So I gave him my passport and after about 10 minutes he gave me a room card but the room number was written very badly, it was impossible to read!! He didn't even explain to me where my room was and how to get there!! When I asked where I should go he just pointed somewhere and I asked again where?? He started to get angry and again pointed out that there, well I'll find it myself!! Horrible behavior!! He asked me if I wanted breakfast I said yes and then said that they had a problem with my payment and that I should come to the reception in the morning to solve it!! The best thing came just now, I found the elevators but no one explained to me that you have to use a room card there to be able to use the elevator!! I arrived on the third floor found my room 3029 opened the door and in a moment there was a big scream, some naked guy got out of bed and started shouting at me what I was doing in his room!!! I was shocked, I just said Sorry, Sorry sir!!! Excellent, after the whole day of traveling I wanted to go to bed quickly it was almost midnight and I had to go down to the reception again and solve their mistake what they had done!! I told them that they gave me the wrong room that some guy shouted at me!! The man at the reception just looked at me like what do I want??? Very reluctantly he looked at the computer again and tried to find me a free room, shook his head and in about ten minutes he gave him a different card and said that this one should be fine and made me a new reservation for a room for £603 per night!! But he didn't tell me that, I only found out in the room when I saw the email!! When I arrived at the different room the light in the room wow I thought someone was already there and they gave me the wrong room again!! So I shouted from the door Hello, Hello ... In the morning I confronted the reception with why they changed my reservation that I had paid for and made a new one for £603?? It said that it was possible to cancel it free of charge until 4pm, I showed it to the gentleman at the reception and he barely looked at it and just said that it's nothing, it's fine hahaha... I absolutely cannot recommend this terrible hotel but read the reviews that say it all!! Have a nice day..

    Stay at a different hotel at Stansted - staff are the reason to avoid

    If you are going to Stansted I would highly recommend staying at another hotel as there are cheaper ones in the area and this one is not worth the price. Why? The staff. Whilst the room is a nice size with a nice bed the staff are the reason not to stay. The first issue I incurred was at check in, they ignored the fact there was a queue and started serving people that just walked into the hotel ignoring the people who had waited ages. When this was raised the staff member started to have an inside joke with the people who had queue jumped making me feel uncomfortable and feeling upset as I felt ridiculed for following the rules. Additionally, the rooms are sound proof yet at 11:45pm the bar was empty ( I had a room looking out to the bar and could see all the seats and it was empty and about 5 staff members) so the staff decided to turn the music up so loud that even in a room where you can't hear your neighbours you could clearly hear the music loudly and the songs. I phoned reception to ask them to turn it down as they only turned it up as it was only staff in the bar only to have no apology and the staff member laugh at me for making a complaint. Unacceptable. In the morning I went to make a formal complaint about the staff members and it ended up being the staff member that laughed at me on the phone. I told him I never experienced this sort of behaviour from a Radisson before and said to him I wish I stayed at a different hotel and he said yes maybe you should. Which again is unprofessional and should of been dealt with, if this is the way they treat the public then why do they deserve the money to stay there? I have never experienced this from a Radisson before I have stayed in many across the world as member and appalled by the professionalism of the staff. They don't know how to resolve issues and they do not hold up to the standards of other hotels. Especially in Stanstead there are others that appreciate that customer service is a priority.The Novotel which is a short bus ride away treats everyone respectfully, and you will get an uninterrupted sleep for a lot less and their staff go above and beyond to resolve issues even the minor ones. Whilst this hotel is closest to the airport I would say invest in the ones with a shuttle bus as they know how to treat their guests and don't treat them badly like Radisson does.
