Location

Occupying a 19th century country house, this highly traditional hotel is surrounded by large, beautiful parklands, which also feature a golf course. The hotel is only a ten-minute drive from the centre of Norwich, where many excellent shops are to be found. East Midlands Airport is only a 45-minute drive away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1859. The hotel welcomes guests in a 4-storey building with 2 lifts and 130 rooms. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday.     On the whole this visit was neither terrible or great. We booked a classic room which was looking lets say tired. The view was of the rooms opposite (see photo). This meant keeping the net curtains closed all the time (not exhibitionists) thus helping the room stay dark which is one of my pet hates. The staff did clean the room very well every day.The spa and pool was lovely and staff very friendly helpful. Same for the golf. Great course although it was rather mixed weather when we played. Food was standard hotel offering if a bit pricey but tasty enough. Breakfast was buffet style and the eggs were hard every morning. Dining room styled more like a canteen, but the conservatory rooms were much better.If you like dogs then this is the place for you. If you dont then swerve this place. Dogs are welcome everywhere including the restaurant. One concern was one of the waiting staff fussing a dog then carrying on working without washing her hands. When I hear the word Hall in the title I expected something a bit more grand, but maybe you get that if you spend for the top end rooms. We would stay again though.

    Held an event at the hotel. The team were first class in every way, from the reception team through to the event staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they followed the brief exactly. Shout outs to Erika and her crew. It's so nice to have a hospitality team who are switched on and on it. Golf Course was also excellent and the pro shop team couldn't have been more helpful.

    My hubbie brought me a spa day. Ive spent today being totally relaxed in steam room, reading and to.finish my day an amazing facial and back massage with Amy. Amy was awesome, didnt take long to find all my shoulder knots and work her magic, perfect pressure. My facial was brilliant, loved the products and came out feeling really good. Thank you Amy. Would thoroughly recommend Amy.

    Imogen at the spa was absolutely amazing, felt so refreshed and relaxed and she was so gentle with the massage as I have a shoulder injury 100% recommend her
