  Did not get what I paid for.

  Scam. Paid over $100 for a room with breakfast. No breakfast. Age showed a wonderful breakfast bar. Rip-offLoud, too. Banging all night and woke up at 5:00 AM by loud vehicles. Decent WiFi though. Room was clean. Had refrigerator. Bed was comfortable.

  The woman at check in was very nice. However, the room was not. As soon as we entered the room we noticed how dated it was.(not a big deal, you get what you pay for). In terms of cleanliness it didn’t meet the minimum requirements. We found our towels on the bathroom floor used, and all the shampoo and etc were all thrown in the sink and empty. Front desk provided us with new items promptly. There was mouse poop in the bathroom. The breaker box in our room was recalled in all homes and businesses in the 80s for fire safety. So seeing that didn’t give us peace of mind. The AC unit had mold. There was shavings (what we hope) and a mouse trap next to the mini fridge. As well what looked like blood/vomit on the wall. We ended up going to Walmart and got our own cleaning supplies. Hair all over the bathroom as well. If the bed wasn’t made, I would’ve thought we checked into a dirty room. We had driven a long way and needed to sleep, which was the only reason we stayed. And once we cleaned the room ourself it felt much better. But that shouldn’t be needed.You can run a cheap hotel with dated things, but still clean the rooms properly. The things you notice around the room in terms of upkeep scream “landlord special”.Pros: Nice staff and convenient location

  not the best but not the worst i've stayed at

  We stayed at this hotel and visited Salem on Halloween weekend. all the hotels near or in Salem were outrageously priced and as expected. If we wanted to keep it under 100 bucks a night, we had to stay here, and that was with a LFF rate discount. We had no working heat in the room from the start, but the clerk was nice enough to lend us a space heater. That little heater actually did a pretty good job. There were no other smoking rooms available that night. The clerk was looking for a new room to put us in and my gf smokes, so i did not want to risk the smoke fee in a non smoking room. There was just no way I was going to pay even more to stay here by any chance at this point. The bathroom floor and room rug were kind of dirty, almost like HK forgot to wipe the floor and vacuum prior to their exit. There was no coffee maker in the room, but not a big deal at all, and the fridge was never plugged in so we couldn't store our leftovers, so we had to leave it in the car overnight, luckily it got down to 35 at night with respect to that. It was a smoking room which we asked for, but there were lots and lots of old cigarette ashes and tobacco shreds all on top of the box spring cover so that when you pulled the sheets out from its fold all that stuff came up and onto the sheets we had to sleep on, we were not very pleased. Smokers don't even like to see that. The bed was comfortable to sleep on and we got really good sleep. It was quiet enough. It wasn't that bad overall. I guess it could've been worse.

  Worst experience ever

  My wife and I reserved 3 nights at the Econolodge Northborough, Ma. We realize that the Econolodge is not the Hilton but do expect clean, safe accommodation, this place was neither, it was not cheap at approximately $190.00 a night Canadian. At check in the clerk told us to come back within 10 minutes if the room is unsatisfactory, we opened the door and was overcome by a stale, musty odour. We did as the clerk recommended and went back to her to exchange rooms, she was a little surprised we wanted to change rooms, she then gave us a room on the first floor and we went from bad to worse!! The second room had the same stale odour, as well as burn marks on the comforter as well as the carpet, the door had about a half inch gap in the bottom big enough for rats, mice and insects to enter, the safety on the door was loose because it was missing a screw, there was a lamp on the bedside table which had the cord cut and could be dangerous if the cord was attempted to be plugged in, the fridge was rusty and dirty. There was a moulding around the door casement going into the bathroom was broken away. The room was generally gross!! The a/c was very noisy.We could not get another hotel room in the area that evening, we had no choice….we to stay( regretfully)We taped up the door, sprayed a whole large can of Lysol disinfectant laid in the bed and didn’t get to sleep because of a/c and a general unsafe feeling because of the door, safety latch and sketchy characters hanging around the hotel.When we went down to the complimentary breakfast, we were not surprised when we saw the coffee and pancake machines were broken down,Thankfully we found very nice accommodation for the next 2 nights.At checkout the clerk was very surprised we wanted to check out, he was very accommodating and since we had booked through a third party he told us the third party had to call directly and they would negotiate any sort of refund.The good news is that we received compensation for the 2 nights.THIS PROPERTY NEEDS TO BE TORN DOWN AND REBUILT!!!!!!

  This is the most disgusting place we have ever seen. The lamp shades had multiple dark stains, the wall by the bed was cracked on looked like some one tried to repair it but had a build up of plaster and chipped paint below it. The bed smelt horrible and on the head board was a beige area and when I touched it it was a moth that flew out the door. The bathroom was even worse. The shower head was black,the shower floor was gray and the toilet had a ring in the bowl of brown and the rim had stains on it. I went back to the office to get a refund and they tried to deny it until I showed them the pictures I took. He said he would refund my money. I haven’t seen it in my bank yet. The number they post on their website doesn’t work. It rings once then beeps a couple of times and goes dead. I will NEVER BOOK WITH ECONO LODGE AGAIN. NEVER!!!
