Location

The hotel location is within walking distance of Faneuil Hall, the North End, Little Italy, the Government Center, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Mass General Hospital, TD Banknorth Garden, the New England Aquarium, Beacon Hill, Boston Common and much more. There is an MTBA station just around the corner from the hotel (taking guests basically anywhere in Boston). Harvard University and Newbury Street can be easily accessed from here. Boston Airport is approximately 3 km away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1904. 8 junior suites, 58 single rooms and 13 double rooms are located on 9 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee).     Stayed in room 601. The only good things about this hotel are the location and the staff. The room was clean an the bedding is great but the beds and pillows themselves are hard as rocks. If that doesn't keep you awake the constant dripping of shower head will. Also, if you are a cool sleeper, the room temp wont go below 70 degrees, even though you can "set" the thermostat as low as 65. There is nothing in the room that describes the hotel or amenities. On day 3 we found there was a refrigerator in the nightstand. Will not stay here again and do not recommend.

    Lovely, lovely staff (especially Carlos!), great location, comfortable beds. Slippers and robes (not sure if just because we upgraded to room 910). Very clean, lovely breakfast. Beautiful touch of the hand written card. Only 2 small complaints - noisy heating (but it is an old building and it was -13C/55F!) and get that lovely bar area up and running! Will stay again when we return to Boston

    While the rooms are on the smaller size, this is an EXCELLENT hotel! This was our 7th trip to Boston, but the first time at The Boxer hotel. PERFECT EXPERIENCE! Thank you Carmen! We stayed 5 days. The cleanliness is impeccable! Every corner is without dust! The beds are comfortable! The bathroom is shiny and smells new as the first day they were built! The towels are fresh and fluffy! Merci to the cleaning staff! The front staff is beyond helpful and fantastic! There is a safe and a coffee maker in the room that actually work! Many thanks to the front desk Manager, Carmen, who saved the day multiple times! The food in the restaurant is great for breakfast and comes quickly! Best coffee ever! (no kidding, the BEST coffee I have ever had at a hotel!) Bottled water is always available and love the refreshing cucumber water in the Lobby! Had to leave and move to another hotel because they were sold out, sadly. The other hotel could not compare! Wished we could have stayed the whole 7 days in Boston at The Boxer!

    Very clean hotel, some say rooms are small but our room had enough space (king bed).I gave 3 starts because I don’t agree with the $20 per night amenity fee and we never received the $10 voucher, that was part of the “amenity fee”.
