  Third Party Reservations Beware

  My husband and I are Best Western Rewards members and have stayed at the Best Western in Aurora many times. We have always returned because of the hospitality and positive experiences we’ve had in the past.During a recent quick, unplanned trip, we decided to book through JetBlue Vacations since it included both the flight and hotel. Normally, we book our flights and hotel separately. Unfortunately, this stay was a very different experience from what we have come to expect.Upon arrival, we were placed in an ADA room. We questioned this, as we would never want to occupy a room that may be needed by a guest who requires those accommodations. When we asked why we were assigned that room, we were told that when a reservation is made through a third party, guests receive the “cheapest room.” That explanation was surprising and disappointing. Regardless of how the reservation is made, we are still paying guests and expected to receive a room appropriate for our stay without taking away accommodations that another guest may genuinely need.Additionally, while we understand that late checkout is a courtesy, we heard the front desk offer a 12 PM checkout to another guest who was a Rewards member and booked directly with the hotel. When we requested the same courtesy, we were told that because we booked through a third party we would have to pay a $20 fee for the extra hour, even though we are Rewards members. This felt unfair and inconsistent.Finally, when we checked out, we asked for a copy of our bill and were told that because the reservation was made through a third party, the bill would be sent by them via email. Not being able to receive a simple copy of our bill at checkout was frustrating.Overall, the way we were treated because we booked through a third party was disappointing and not in line with the hospitality we have experienced during our many previous stays. As loyal guests and Rewards members, we expected to be treated with the same level of service regardless of how the reservation was made.

  Wonderful stay!

  We stayed here for a long weekend. It was wonderfully affordable with all the amenities I really like in a hotel. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of options including pancakes, oatmeal, make your own yogurt parfaits and additional hot items. I really enjoyed the pool. The pool and it's surrounding area were clean and had plenty of space. The room was spacious and comfortable. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. We would stay here again.   HWY Noise!

  The room was clean and comfortable, but make sure you ask for a room that is NOT on the hwy side of the hotel, due to the hwy noise at night! It appears you booked your room as a king suite. The way the hotel was constructed, 25 years ago, all king suites are located on the west side of the building, facing the highway. Sadly, there was no way to foresee the growth our city has experienced over the years and how busy that connector highway would become. Regardless, we are so sorry it was too noisy. We never want our valued guests to have a less than stellar experience.
