    Meh

Meh. The rooms are fine, wifi works well, and staff is really nice. But....you can hear EVERYTHING with your neighbors. I mean everything. It's not exactly a quiet stay, and also the location is a bit strange as the hotel is hard to get in and out of. Also, don't bother with the elevators. They are way too slow; get some steps in by taking the stairs.

HOUSEKEEPING IS VERY HARASSING. Other reviews say the same - this hotel has a major problem!

    rating27 Sept 2025

At approximately 9am I requested and was granted late checkout for 12:30pm. 11:15am I hear the tapping on my door from housekeeping; I let her know I had a late check out and the front desk knew.Next the room phone rings; front desk is asking me if I’m extending my stay. Good grief - I reminded him of the late checkout he granted me.Grand finale…12:32pm (yes I was running a little late after dealing with the unnecessary contacts) housekeeping is using their key to enter my room! As a Diamond Elite member, this was the most uncomfortable and harassing stay I’ve ever experienced in my 300+ stays with this chain. AVOID THIS HOTEL! I urge readers to check other reviews…they say the same thing about harassing housekeeping when you have a late checkout. There are way better choices in the area with no worries and excellent service; just check reviews (I know the area and travel all of the time for work). Tabitha W, at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denver - Aurora Medical Campus by IHG, responded to this review Dear Shawnelle L,Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you encountered during your stay—especially as a valued Diamond Elite member. Your loyalty to our brand is deeply appreciated, and it is clear that we fell short of the high standards both you and we expect. What you described is absolutely not the experience we aim to provide. A confirmed late checkout should have been respected without interruption. The miscommunication between departments and the multiple contacts you received were not only disruptive but understandably made you feel unwelcome. The attempt to enter your room after your agreed checkout time, even if slightly delayed, should have been handled with far more care and discretion. Please know that your feedback has been shared directly with our front desk and housekeeping teams, and we are actively reviewing our internal communication procedures to ensure this type of situation does not happen again. Continuous training is underway to better support our guests' needs—especially for our most loyal members. We would greatly value the opportunity to make this right and restore your confidence in our service. If you're open to further discussion, please contact us directly at AGM@ExpressAurora.com. We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future, as your experience is not reflective of the level of hospitality we strive to uphold.Sincerely,Tabitha W

Got the boot even after requesting a late checkout

    rating23 Aug 2025

Our son had surgery in the vicinity. I had asked for a late check out due to a late flight back to Boston and issue with surgery. He unfortunately had developed a stroke complication from the surgery. We stayed 5 nights. I had asked for a late check out for 2pm with the night staff (I hadn’t checked in until midnite). On our last day housekeeping knocked 3 times and I told them late checkout and one of them scolded me. Then the front desk COLTON called and told us we had to leave by 12:30. After not wanting to deal with them any longer we packed up and our son laid on their lobby couch until our departure with a debilitating. Not a friendly way of dealing with customer service if you ask me. On the bright side the women who serviced the breakfast buffet were very cheery, polite and kept it spotless. Vj Ross Rawliuk, Owner at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denver - Aurora Medical Campus by IHG, responded to this review Dear 717victoriaj,First and foremost, we are truly sorry to hear about your son’s medical complications and can only imagine how stressful this time has been for you and your family. Please accept our sincere apologies that we did not handle your late check-out request with the care and understanding you deserved. What you described does not reflect the level of compassion and hospitality we strive to provide, especially for guests facing such difficult circumstances. We will be addressing this matter directly with our team to ensure that future situations are handled with much greater sensitivity. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. On a positive note, we are grateful for your kind words about our breakfast staff, and we will be sure to share your appreciation with them.We truly hope your son is on the road to recovery, and we would welcome the opportunity to better serve you should your travels bring you back to Denver. With heartfelt regards,Ross RGeneral Manger

5 stars for the hotel - 1 for the location = 4 stars

Positive experience with the Holiday Inn at the Aurora Medical Campus! The staff were polite and friendly, the room and bed were comfortable, and the hotel's amenities (pool, wifi, sauna, appliances, etc.) were more than satisfactory. The delicious free coffee in the lobby deserves special mention. For under $100 a night, this Holiday Inn is a bargain. The rooms and common areas were pristine and refreshingly spacious. Check-in was quick and painless, even with the gov't rate discount. (Unlike SOME hotel chains. *cough cough* Marriott.) Everything under the control of the management and staff was excellent. The only downside is the location. Situated halfway between the airport and attractions such as the Wings Over Rockies museum, it is convenient, and being just across the street from a delicious carryout meal at Goku Hibachi Express is a plus. There are advantages. That said, through no fault of the Holiday Inn, this part of Aurora is becoming a rougher area. Sketchy people wandered into the lobby sometimes. The sidewalks outside the property had a higher concentration of drifters and weed odor than my preferred level. You quickly get the vibe when the nearby McDonald's keeps the drink machine behind the counter and needs the staff to unlock the bathroom. The highway traffic is also uncomfortably loud.Overall, 4/5, or 5/5 apart from the location. I would readily recommend this hotel if you are staying in area, especially for the price. Tabitha W, at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denver - Aurora Medical Campus by IHG, responded to this review Dear Franz,Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience during your stay at the Holiday Inn Aurora Medical Campus. Your kind words about our friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and well-maintained amenities truly mean a lot to us.We’re especially glad you enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the lobby—it's a guest favorite and we're happy it hit the spot! It’s also great to hear that check-in went smoothly and that you found the hotel to be a great value, especially with the government rate.We understand your concerns regarding the surrounding area and appreciate you noting that this is outside of the hotel’s control. Please rest assured that the safety and comfort of our guests remain a top priority, and we continue to work closely with local authorities and maintain vigilant security practices on property.Your recommendation is the highest compliment, and we’re grateful for it. Should your travels bring you back to the Aurora area, we’d love the opportunity to welcome you again and make your next stay just as enjoyable.Sincerely,Tabitha W

    1. I was station at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and Buckley Airbase is not five minutes away. Let’s try twenty to twenty-five minutes and that depends on your direct and traffic.2. I arrived on December 24, 2024 for a scheduled medical appointment the following week. On December 25th a note had been slipped under the door saying “no cleaning of rooms.” Nothing posted at the counter upon check in nor did the desk check in say anything on December 24th.3. Bathtub had a dark ring around it from not being cleaned from the onset. 4. Room stayed dirty for two days. You have to personally ask for it to be fully cleaned. Nothing is mention on their website about asking to be cleaned. They want you to leave the room during their stated cleaning session which does not occur. 5. Floor was NEVER cleaned during my entire stay for eight days.6. Some of the housekeeping employees does understand a ENGLISH WORD. 7. Called the corporate office and made and a complaint. The housekeeping manager engaged me for an argument and being to say “why did you call corporate I have to answer those complaints.8. Had an issue with a guess and had to fully explain the racist ruddiness of the Individual. I was told to calm down by the front desk representative. She played the race card game in full view. 9. If you have small kids or major health issues with your back or legs the beds are too high. As a person being 57 inches the matters reached my lower buttocks standing up.10. Extremely small towel space while setting down. If you have large legs or bigger size forget it. Don’t forget to close the commode led while flushing because the water will flash up and out.11. Thin cheap bath towels and clothes. The pillows stinky! The wash clothes are like rubbing your bare hands on your face. They are just that thin. The Dollar General store ones are much thicker.12. Small trash cans are less than the size of a kid’s soccer ball. 13. Staff gets offended if you bring issues to their attention. I informed them about cold water for coffee and was told the water had been placed in the pot. Called maintenance about the refrigerator not being cold. He arrived and stated the reason was I had adjusted the temperature to the number seven setting. Any one that’s mechanical inclined knows about PSI and seven is high. He adjusted it to zero almost. 14. One gust had a dog in the dining area where you eat your food.15. The breakfast is not for vegetarian. If you are looking for sugar and fat that is the place.16. Staff are not as friendly as you might think.
