    Our family stayed at Hometown Studios by Red Roof Denver Airport/Aurora September 14-16. The hotel is run down and dirty. The hallway doors are broken, allowing access by anyone to come in. The rooms are truly horrible. Very misleading advertising. I am disgusted by the lack of cleanliness. There are roaches everywhere. Mold on the shower curtain. Urine on the toilet. And our key cards had to be changed three times because they kept deactivating. This happened once when we returned at 11:30pm and we had to call the front desk to come let us in at which point we were told that this is a common problem. Also, the door handles are loose and falling off. This Hotel is a disgrace to Red Roofs everywhere and should not be allowed to bare the name. The only reason we stayed was because we were told the rooms were non refundable. When I got home I found MANY other reviews stating the same problems and worse...some had issues with drug addicts breaking into their rooms. And now the hotel has refused to refund my $100 deposit that is supposed to be refundable after our stay. I have lodged a complaint with my bank, Red Roof corporate, the city of Denver, Expedia, and I will continue to find more places to complain to. This place should be shut down.     I don’t know how any one has stayed or even lives here. This place is disrespectfully disgusting. On the initial walk in everything seemed normal. Then when we got back and I tried to take a shower the worst happen. I’m not even going to complain about the flies but they did just keep coming out of no where. Every time we killed one 6 more came. The real issue was the freaking roaches. The place was infested with them 🤮🤢they were coming out the sinks, the toilet, from behind the tv ,the dressers , the ceiling,the tub,basically just every where you can think of.even from the fire alarm thing. Due to the stress I had seizures because of this. There is no way Pest control comes to this property there are WAAAAAAYYYYYY to many cockroaches. This place has to be burnt down and started a new. There isn’t enough spray or chemicals in the world to fix this INFESTATION. I also got bit in the face by BED BUGS. My key card would not work. And when I told the lady at the front she just said keep trying it will work eventually. We didn’t even continue our stay and it was pointless to ask for the money back. When we checked in we decided to sit in the car and smoke. And as we sat in the car we observed drug deals going on and prostitution the guest were fraternizing with the employee. It was just like I said a horrific experience and I will never ever recommend any one to come here they need to renovate or tear down this whole place and try again. Some serious rebranding needs to happen. $180.00 waste. Also I paid online and when I arrived the lady wanted $80 for incidentals but she wanted it in cash. So I had to go and find an atm cause she wouldn’t take it off my card. Me and my husband slept in our car. I threw away all of my belongings due to the fact that I didn’t know if the roaches got into my things. Here are the pictures and videos. And please I don’t need a response from you all. It would be insincere and would only be throwing salt on the wound. Thanks but no thanks keep your “ oh I’m sorry that you experienced this we hope to make your stay better next time blah blah blah bull ” you all have disrespected us enough😤😠😡🤬I would never stay here again. You guys are lucky. Count your days because the things that are going on here is lawsuit worthy. I even plan on going to the news about this.     I recently relocated to Denver for my job and was excited to explore the city while searching for an apartment. During this transition, I chose to stay at HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply unsettling and highly unprofessional.Approximately 30 minutes after checking in, while I was resting in my room, a woman, later identified as Shane, the GM—entered without knocking or announcing herself. Ironically, it was the same person I had just made eye contact with in the hallway while dragging three large suitcases to my room. When I addressed the intrusion, she simply stated she was “just doing her job” and offered no apology. This left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.I immediately reported the incident to the front desk, expressed my concerns, and requested to cancel my booking. I also asked for a full refund given the circumstances. Although I was told I could be moved to another room, this did nothing to rebuild the trust that had been broken or restore my sense of security.Attempts by Expedia, your business partner, to follow up were ignored, calls and emails went unanswered. When I returned to the property in person to speak with someone directly, Shane was combative and unprofessional, displaying a confrontational attitude and providing no clear explanation of the refund policy.I understand that issues can arise, but basic safety, respect, and professionalism should never be compromised. Thankfully, after multiple follow-ups, Expedia issued a full refund, including the insurance amount.Given this experience, I would NOT recommend this location to friends, family, or coworkers. I care deeply about their safety and well-being.     Horrid. Literally, the stairwell 'security'/fire doors are falling off the hinges (2 of them that I had to use at least). The door at the base of the stairwell that might keep non residents out, the door doesn't shut as it doesn't line up with the frame. Stairwells were dirty (concrete floors that showed a lot of dirt, need to be pressure washed).In the room: Sheets, Towel, and washcloth were clean, but the bathmat was dirty or stained. Floors were very dirty, stains and dirt on the walls. Everything worked in the room as far as I know, but it's obvious that the chain is not putting money into any sort of deep cleaning or basic building maintenance. This was my second and last visit to the Red Lion HomeTowne Suites chain. Both stays were similar, and reflect the lack of basic cleaning/maintenance.     BEWARE: HOTEL STAFF ARE SCAMMERS I booked a hotel and paid the full amount. I was traveling from California to Denver. I tried calling the hotel 5-6 times around 9 pm to inform them that we would be checking in late, around 11:30 pm, due to a flight delay. No one answered, so I left a message on Expedia and sent an email, but no one responded to either. When I finally arrived, the front desk told me that my reservation had been canceled due to overbooking and that they had given my room to someone else. I was left helpless, with luggage and nowhere to go.They simply denied any responsibility and told me to talk to Expedia, saying they couldn’t do anything about it. I spoke with Expedia, and they said they couldn’t help without confirmation from the hotel desk. Expedia customer care tried calling the hotel desk, but no one answered. When I asked the front desk lady to attend the call, she bluntly said it was up to her whether she answered any calls or not. Eventually, Expedia refunded the hotel fees, but it wasted around two hours of my time with multiple follow-ups. I had another connecting flight in the morning, so I couldn't sleep that night.Not only that, but during this entire conversation, we noticed another family struggling with the same issue while I was on a call with Expedia. We also observed two pickup trucks full of thug-like individuals standing in the parking lot and staring at everyone. They were probably hired goons to intimidate any customers who got angry.
