    The way a friendly person can change your day

    I don’t know why me and my friends decided to take different flights. I do not recommend as their flight got delayed 5 hours! I was the only at the Denver airport on time from my whole group. As I flew united. I was discouraged, had so many luggage’s to carry and no one to help. I was quite parched and needed a snack, as I asked the information folks in the airport they recommended I made may trek over to the Westin with 3 checked bags and a carry on. It was quite the mission, I was tired and hungry also very out breath. A wonderful kind soul stood before me as I walked through the hotel doors. An angel named Hirut ascended from the heavens and turned my frown completely upside down. Very welcoming, understanding, and respectful. Hirut made the most delicious coffee, offered to keep an eye on my bags while I ran to the Lou and offered me a free sample. Really made waiting for my friends 10x better. I wish I would’ve booked a room here just to say hi to Hirut every morning. An amazing edition to the Westin hotel team definitely an asset to the team. I will be staying here next time just to experience the hospitality I did for the short time I had in the ingredients store. Thank you Hirut!!     Upscale but poor luggage handling for an airport location

    We stayed here because of an early flight, and we had 6 pieces of luggage from a ski trip. The idea was convenience regarding the luggage. Unfortunately, the hotel is not equipped to handle luggage efficiently. We drove to the valet site of the hotel, which was jumbled up with about 20 vehicles parked hodge podge helter skelter in a tiny cramped area, with many people waiting for service. We unpacked our luggage from our vehicle and brought the luggage to the door, where a person did show up, tagged one piece of luggage rather than all 6, most likely because he was in a rush to try and get to many people waiting. He said the one tag would be good for all 6 and I asked him to write "6" on the tag. It's fortunate he did, because the next day it was an issue when trying to retrieve the luggage. We were finally able to gather all the luggage, but it required a call to the main desk, travel from our room to the lobby, then down 5 floors to storage, then back up 5 or 6 floors to bring the luggage across the plaza over to the airport check in area. Not at all convenient and it was time consuming. The ice make did not work on our floor and you cannot access other floors for ice because of electronic key restrictions via the elevator. This hotel did not effectively handle our luggage situation even though it is an airport-based location. The Westin at Detroit airport is much better equipped for this type of situation. Comfortable upscale rooms but very frustrating luggage handling.     Nice but Noisy

    Rooms are very clean and solidly built for no road noise. So nice to wake up at the airport without any travel stress for our flight. Downside is not a good night sleep before 15 hours of traveling. Mattresses aren’t as heavenly as other Westins. While we can’t hear any noise outside the room, the AC fan sounds like an airplane engine all night long even in off mode.
