  Great place to stay with family, kid friendly. Great oceanfront pool and beach. Love having a full kitchen. The beds could use updating.

  The smell!!!! If you can handle rotten seaweed stench outside and inside, stay a while! The rotten seaweed/sewage odor and gag reflexes woke us up each morning. Seriously. It wafted through the vents and drains. The beach was not a beach I could even put my feet in. Disgusting. The pool, by the beach, smelled of putrid seaweed and sewage. If they would invest in beach maintenance, and the removal of that weeks-old rotten seaweed that was piled feet high on the beach, it would have been lovely. The location is good, the houses were dated but fine…. We just could not get past the stench of this place. The smell ruined it. We even left a day early. Such a shame. Perhaps a different time of year would help? I don’t know. They should warn their guests of possible odors. For almost $500 a night, I expected much better.

  Perfect family gateway in the Keys

  We spent a long weekend in June here and had an amazing time. It felt like we were in the Caribbean - but we never left Florida! The location was super convenient, and the two-level bungalows were perfect for our family. Full kitchen, grill outside - easy meals and lots of space to relax. The pool had a stunning ocean view, and I loved quiet mornings reading on the private beach in a lounge chair. Tons of stuff to do for both kids and adults- tennis, basketball, walks, pool/beach time. We were never bored and completely unplugged. Honestly, it was the perfect quick escape. Already planning our next trip back!

  Great Escape From Winter‘s Harsh Weather

  It was a haven for chilled bodies and winter-weary souls. A lovely resort with its own section of the beach, a heated pool, jacuzzi and tennis courts. It also has a small marina but we did not see any boats using it during our stay. The beach is not very wide but enough to relax on lounge-chairs under shady palm trees or sun umbrellas and drift off in the gentle breeze or renew friendships with buddies and catch up. An occasional fishing boat would pass but far away enough to not be bothersome. No personal motor crafts to drive you crazy! The resort was as described by management: family friendly with no loud music or wild parties. The unit (#1) we rented was one of the 4 beach-front villas and the view was nice. The unit itself was big, clean and well-kept, with lots of outdoor space. We ate lunch and played bridge on the screened patio every day. The only “complaint” we had was that all the bedrooms and bathrooms were on the second floor, which made it inconvenient for 4 old ladies (ranging from 75 to 84) to climb the narrow winding staircase multiple times a day. But we dealt with it! The owners were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. They gave excellent instructions on checking in and using the facilities. The location was good, with grocery and other stores just a few miles away. I would return and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of sun, warmth and relaxation with no fuss.

  Fantastic Experience at Cocoplum!

  This small, very family-friendly resort suited us perfectly. We did multiple day trips (location is fantastic!) and then enjoyed the afternoon/sunset at the jacuzzi, pool, beach every day. And we loved the ease of borrowing basketballs and tennis rackets when struck with whim to play. We also like to prepare a lot of our own meals - so the well-stocked and modern kitchen, and grocery delivery, was greatly appreciated. There was just a really nice vibe to the place - from staff to other guests. It really felt like the best combination of an airbnb and a resort. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
