    BAD PLUMBING, no help offered until checkout

    Took over 45 minutes to check in, had to park far from room and after long walk with heavy bags, room key didn’t work. When I returned to my room at 2:00 am, hot, tired, and perspiring, the water in my shower quickly filled to 6” above my ankles. When I went to front desk to complain, I was told maintenance would take a look AFTER 8:00 AM.I checked out ( absolutely furious, could not sleep ) at approximately 3:00 AM and drove over an hour north to Islamorada where I finally got a place to rest.Horrible experience, front desk could have cared less!!     They charge for every little thing and they up charge for unnecessary things such as an $18 breakfast , hidden fees and resort fees that don’t count as a resort.     Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was wonderful. As a pet-friendly hotel, it offers a great area for dogs, which we really appreciated. The location was excellent, just outside the hustle and bustle of the main core of Key West, making it both convenient and relaxing. The room was clean, easily accessible by elevator, and felt nicely private. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, and the pool was spotless, its atmosphere felt more like a resort than a typical hotel. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this hotel.     Have stayed at this site several times. Each time it gets better each time. Rooms are clean and serviceable. Front desk staff is welcoming and helpful. Extremely accommodating. Javain, the evening poolside Tiki Bar bartender was wonderful. He served up kindness with our food and drinks. The free shuttle to town is a nice feature for the price conscious. I would recommend a stay at this hotel.
