I do not recommend unit 113 or the agency representing it

    rating27 Jan 2026

In order to help others make decisions, I wanted to share that we had a bad experience with the rental agency managing unit 113. We got stuck in the big ice storm and asked if we could possibly just shift our dates forward. The agent said the question was "above my pay grade" and said she had to ask the manager and we'd hear back in a day or two. We contacted them again a few days later to explain our situation but we never got any other response, and lost our $3000 payment. I've never ever had a vacation rental company or owner refuse to change dates in the event of a real need. If you do book, I recommend getting the cancellation insurance that supposedly covers any event, though it is expensive. Regular cancellation insurance would not have covered what happened to us and we never had any intention of cancelling; we only wanted to change the dates. Because the rental company (Barefeet) was so unusually unresponsive and unhelpful, I wouldn't work with them in the future and would not recommend them to others. Nor would I recommend this unit because the owner supposedly had to make the decision for us to be allowed to change our dates, and I guess they decided to refuse and keep our payment. We've always been fortunate to have owners and agencies be understanding and flexible. This was a poor choice on our part and we will book elsewhere for the next visit.

Mariners Club Unit 512 - Amazing stay for our family!

    rating05 May 2025

We stayed in Unit 512 at Mariners Club in Key Largo and absolutely loved it. There was plenty of room in this spacious villa and we loved the contemporary decor! Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed so we ate breakfast and lunch in the condo every day. It was so nice being able to make food and enjoy it poolside. The condo is literally two steps onto the sand and pool deck!! The unit had one king bed, two queens, a trundle bed and pull out couch! Love the soaking tub and huge shower. Every bed was super comfortable as was all the furniture including the patio set and dining table outside overlooking the ocean. We absolutely loved it and cannot wait to return!!! What a place!!

    Roaches are a problem!

    rating20 Mar 2025

when we entered the property - we noticed roaches in the kitchen - we contacted the property management and they said they could not get anyone out. since we were staying there over two weeks we went to the hardware store and bought stuff to catch/kill them. A week later, we contacted the management company and got the same response. We have stayed in the area the last five years and non of the other properties had roach problems. another annoying thing about the location is the security gate is manned. We had at least 6 times where you arrive and there is no one at the gate. You normally wait 5-10 minutes for someone to drive up in a golf cart (sometimes carrying pie and a plate of food) - really not customer friendly.

Nice, Safe, Clean, a Little Worn...

    rating09 Jan 2025

We took a family vacation in early January with our adult kids and their spouses and one toddler granddaughter. We chose a unit overlooking the pool and ocean, which I would highly recommend. Overall, our stay was very nice. The pool area is beautiful and very clean and well maintained. In walking the rest of the grounds, the entire resort seemed to be very well maintained outdoors. We used the Blackstone grill near the pool, which is a very nice added amenity, a couple of times. The only reason I couldn't give this resort five stars is because the unit we rented, #407, was showing some signs of wear and tear and was in need of some updates to bring it up to the level of what it cost to rent. Water pressure was generally very poor throughout the unit, and there was no way that two people could shower at the same time or we could do laundry while someone was showering, which wasn't very practical for a group of seven people. The dishwasher leaked a bit every time we used it. The bathroom fixtures and at least one tub were old and not in great shape. There were a few lamps on night stands, etc. that weren't plugged in because there were no outlets where they were located, so they were basically just decor. The unit was very clean, with plenty of clean bedding and towels, and the HVAC worked well. The high chair in the unit appeared to have been folded up improperly by a previous renter and was bent and unusable, and a brand new one still in the box was delivered within a few hours of my notifying the management, which was nice.Overall, we had a very nice stay here, because we aren't super picky about the things that I listed above. Would we stay here again? Not sure. We had never seen the Florida Keys, so now that we have, we would probably choose a different destination and it wouldn't be an issue anyway. I do feel that the price of $592/night was a bit exorbitant, but I say that with the understanding that we were in the warmest part of Florida in January, so the price was probably not out of line for a 3 bedroom condo on the water, regardless of if it needed some spiffing up.
