Location

    Poor Customer Service & Dirty. Needs Renovation

    Seems that this hotel has a policy that they won't allow early checkin. They made everyone wait until 4 pm so folks had to store their luggage throughout the lobby until the magic hour arrived and rooms were released. This hotel is used by travellers arriving from the airport on way to cruises so some people arrive quite early and have to wait in the lobby with their kids. The staff clearly did not enjoy their job and spoke bluntly to all the customers. This included reception and restaurant staff. Floor were very dirty even at 5 pm even though it had no rained, Our room couch had pulls all over it as if a cat had been sharpening it's claws. People on our shuttle from the airport had waited 1 hour before getting picked up. The location is good but I recommend you only book this hotel if you have no other options.     The room is clean and normal - - like any other room you would expect.The customer service is just awful...and...I already don't expect much.If you get in around dinnertime, it might be a good idea to use Door Dash (I didn't have a car due to leaving the next day). Bistro: The (evening) employee seemed to have an attitude. It was obvious that she didn't want to be bothered. She might be a good person, but she certainly doesn't have the right skillset to be in this type of industry.The male who brought the food to my table just threw it down - - he said nothing, even after I thanked him for it...not a single word. He also seemed to be have an attitude or just having a bad day. We don't get to give customers our overflow of emotions on bad days. Those of us traveling have a lot to deal with too. The food...very...just...okay. Marriott...I won't stay here again because of the people you are choosing to hire. Even the two people I dealt with at the front desk (last night and this morning) weren't helpful. On another note, I went to the bistro area for breakfast. The young lady behind the counter was working really hard. She was handling the cash register AND making food AND delivering food to tables. It was not the most sanitary setup (so I didn't eat there), but it appears she was expected to do it all.     Loss of personal property due to an employee

    This review is not about the hotel property itself, but rather the lack of respect an employee of the hotel had regarding a customer's personal property. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel even if the actual hotel was the best I ever stayed in. We stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise on April 18, 2025. After we had checked out and were preparing to board the cruise, I realized I had left my eyeglasses at the hotel. I contacted the hotel as soon as we were in our room and received an email from an employee stating that she had found my eyeglasses and provided me with the information on how to have them returned to me. I did as she instructed and notified her of such that same afternoon. We were overseas for several weeks after the cruise was completed, during which time I emailed this employee directly numerous times with no response. I contacted the company that I was told would be returning my glasses several times as well but still no glasses. Fast forward to our return home in Indiana in June 2025, I spoke directly with this employee by phone and she stated that she had been out of the office, would review her emails and respond to me in a few days. Again no communication from her so I once again contacted the company that was supposed to be returning my glasses and they sent a group email to several contacts regarding this matter. I finally received a call from the hotel manager who, after speaking with the employee, was told the employee had "left them on the desk" after finding them. The manager searched the property but my $700 pair of eyeglasses were nowhere to be found. A claim was filed through their insurance company but as of this date, they have not reimbursed me for my loss, even though it was due to negligence by this Marriott employee to safely secure my eyeglasses until they were returned to me. So my warning to potential customers is if you leave any property behind at this hotel, do not expect you will see it again or be reimbursed for the loss even if it's because of an employee's actions - or inactions in this case.     An average hotel close to the airport and cruise terminals. Overall, it feels somewhat worn down. Only one small elevator was working during our three-day stay, while the other was out of service the entire time, forcing several guests to use the stairs. This hotel seems mainly suited for a one-night stay for cruise passengers flying into Fort Lauderdale. The surrounding area is full of similar hotels, so there are plenty of other options to consider. It’s quite pricey for what you get, and there is an additional fee for parking. It’s not terrible—just average.     Last choice next time. Staff was friendly and room seemed clean enough, but one elevator is out and the other is incredibly slow and trying to accommodate a 6 story hotel! The hall carpet was trashy and had not been vacuumed in many number of days it seemed. Nothing complimentary in the lobby as with other hotels which usually have morning coffee, and evening fruit or cookies. The breakfast was expensive and not good. Understaffed.
