Location

The airport hotel is just minutes away from Port Everglades and also minutes away from Fort Lauderdale Antique Car Museum, Port Everglades, and Las Olas Riverfront. Guests will find restaurants a 10-minute walk away, bars 20 minutes on foot and the nightlife of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood Beach are both around 30 minutes away using public transport. There are taxis available in the immediate vicinity and the Tri rail station is a 5-minute walk. The shops of Oakwood Plaza are 20 minutes on foot. The business hotel is also just minutes from Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL).

Facility

49 suites, 50 single rooms and 58 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected.     Ok Hotel, Free Breakfast...not so much

    I have stayed at this hotel several times. This time it was chosen as a stopover for a cruise. It's starting to show its age. Our room smelled a bit musty. The bed is comfortable and despite being near the end of the Ft Lauderdale Airport runway and the comings and goings of airplanes, it really didn't impact our sleep. So, I'll try to be kind about the breakfast, one, its free. Two its the standard fair, my complaint is this. There is no flow to the set up. Condiments are placed before the main items, so instead of going down the line putting your plate together, you have to recircle to finish your item. Then a food delivery occurred during breakfast service. Maybe not the hotels fault. But maybe another delivery time should have been requested. But, instead of stacking it in a nearby service hall or behind the bar. It was stacked in the service area which was congested and already chaotic. Children were allowed to serve themselves in this chaotic environment which only added to the non flow ability. Again, its free. We could have gone someplace else that was close by.

    Ok For One Night

    We stayed here the night before our cruise. The hotel desk had only one person working with many people trying to check in. We had checked in online but still needed a room key. This was ridiculously annoying. They really should have had more staff during prime time check in. Our room was kind of worn for a Marriott property and the bathroom door would not close. I am certain the door has never been able to close since installation. This was not a normal expansion issue. The room served our purpose but for the cost I expect better from Marriott.

    Hotel is Busy, not clean and breakfast was average at best. Shuttle service was unreliable and took nearly 30 mins after calling multiple times. Worst part was the front desk staff were less than helpful and not warm and welcoming as I have come to expect from Marriott experiences.     Well maintained hotel in great location with shuttle to airport provided

    Our family stayed at this Fairfield on the evening of Dec 23rd, our last night on our trip to FLA before heading home. I commended my wife for choosing the hotel for our last night because it was a great way to close out our vacation and made the early trip to the airport easy and hassle-free. The hotel is a little older but appears to be very well kept, well maintained and I thought the rooms were well cleaned. The parking lot was full so it appears a lot of people take advantage of this hotel for sleep,park and flys, etc. We stayed one night and used the shuttle early in the morning. Service was good and the van was a decent size. Service begins at 3a and I assume it goes not later than 12p. It runs every hour at the top of the hour and does make one other stop at another Fairfield (if necessary) before heading to the airport. The morning we left, the van was basically full from our Fairfield so we were taken directly to the airport which only took 5 mins to arrive at the airport. Then the driver dropped everyone off at their terminals. The hotel room comes with everything you need such as a small fridge, hair dryer and the like. I thought the room and hotel were spotless overall. There is a nice restaurant in the lobby and had some good happy hour deals. We did take advantage and had a couple of beers and it was nice to also have access to cold water, coffee and tea in the lobby. The hotel is easy access with no steps at the entrance. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the pool area. It is outdoors but the pool is heated and is actually a nice length that you could do a couple of laps to unwind. It was great to get in a last little bit of sun before heading home. I felt the hotel location was good because you are a short ride to the Dania beach casino, Hollywood beach and right down the road is a community centre and park. There is a Wendy's in the parking lot of the hotel, a small deli/wrap restaurant across the street. We tried the deli across the street and enjoyed our wraps but my son was hungry later on so we took a short walk to Pepe's Street tacos, which was well worth the walk. There is some fine dining in the area, as we did walk by a nice seafood and steakhouse, which looked very good. The only unfortunate part about the hotel with respect to families that might stay is that there does not appear to be any large stores nearby such as a Wal-Mart, Walgreens, etc...I would definitely stay again to use the shuttle service to the airport, or sleep and park ahead of cruise. I would definitely stay as a reasonable option to be close to the Dania and Hollywood beach areas and be able to easily get to the beach, etc using a ride service.     Terrible customer service and support

    Terrible customer service and support. When we checked in our air conditioning was set at the lowest possible setting- 60 degrees, way too cold for most normal Floridians. When I tried to turn on the heat to warm up the room it would not go on so I had to prop open the door to get the temp to go up a few degrees. Front desk did not answer the phone so I had to go all the way down to front desk to speak with someone. They sent 2 maintenance men up with me and neither could get the heat to work either, (all they did was push a few buttons) plus they did not speak any English. They tried to explain to me how the thermostat worked and I had to try to explain to them that I knew how to use it. They then used Google Translate to tell me there’s no heat available and just left! I then called the front desk again and they answered and told me I’d have to come all the way back downstairs to get my own space heater. They did not offer to bring it up! The heater solved our temperature issue but made the room smell weird, and it was all too much inconvenience on my part. The free breakfast buffet the next morning was more packed than I had ever seen. Unsupervised kids playing with the coffee milk and creamers. And then to top it off I get home and see a $10 charge on my credit card for something- I guess they charge for rudeness and inconvenience now?! AND I still cannot get thru to ANY live person to see what I was charged for. Terrible experience!! I will not go back.
