  Fortuna Hotel Nightmare

  We booked reservations through the hotel website back in September 2025 and received confirmation emails. We also received an email from the hotel the morning we were to arrive in regards to Covid protocols, however we didn’t receive check-in information. When we got to the hotel, there was no one working at the desk and no phone number to reach a real person to assist us with getting into our room. This happened to 2 other couples (friends of ours as well). We were basically stranded for over 2 hours trying to reach someone who could help us. We had to find another hotel which wasn’t easy at the late hour. I can honestly say that I’ve never been stranded like this before. Eventually the automated system said I had no reservation even though I sent a screenshot of the email confirmation. To make matters worse, I received an email after traveling back home asking me to rate my stay and asking if I had any suggestions for improvement. I certainly do: have a real person available at least by phone to solve problems with your reservation system. I will NEVER book a stay at the Fortuna Hotel again

  Property management failure = no place to stay

  Booked the hotel for a weekend trip with friends. Showed up to find I didn't have a place to stay because I booked on the wrong website. Was told management changed in 2024 and the old management company still had their website up and were still taking reservations. As she finished explaining the situation to me, two other parties showed up with the same issue. All of us were turned away and had to find other accommodations. It's 2026. There's been plenty of time for the transfer of all management systems. I was only offered a lame explanation and told they couldn't do anything. Now I have to go dispute charges in my credit card and find another place to stay last-minute.

  Arrived early and left our bags with the front desk to do running around. Their office closes at four and they didn’t let us know where they left our bags and there was no one to get ahold of after hours. Finally got into our room, which had a broken key pad, to find it in disrepair and smelling of citrus chemicals that gave us headaches. The water was bright yellow in the shower, so we left and hooked another hotel and requested a refund, which was agreed upon. Several attempts to reach out and no response and no refund. Do not recommend.

  Great place, value for money.

  A great place, well located near beach and eateries, decent value, but a few points...This is run by remote management team, only the (excellent, friendly) housekeeping and maintenance staff are on site. We booked via airbnb, and the management team were very friendly and responsive by airbnb messaging.Excellent location and value for money attracts lots of younger guests (spring break period when we visited). Most are great, but a selfish minority can make a lot of noise late at night, or play loud music round the pool. The management take this seriously and try to discourage it, but with no-one on site, particularly at night, the loud and selfish largely get away with it.Talking of noise, the aircon, extractor fan and fridge in our unit were all pretty noisy, particularly at night. Thankfully we visited in March, I imagine this would be a greater problem in hotter weather.Surprisingly, the kitchette area has no utensils/mugs/plates etc. What you see in the photos is what you get. The drawers are all empty.Large and comfortable bed, very welcome.Other than that, a wonderful place - two lovely pools, a generally relaxed and friendly vibe, great location, good value for money, maintenance and cleanliness all good.

  Some greatly needed R&R!

  The location was the best! One block from the ocean. Easy to get to the restaurants without being right in the middle of them. We visit every year and love this particular area. The beds were comfy. Place was clean and AC worked great. The pools were refreshing and clean as well. It is a bit of a younger crowd still for the Spring Break months. It wasn’t terrible though. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
