Location

Surrounded by Fort de Russy Park, this is the newest resort offered by the Outrigger group. It's a 10-minute walk to Waikiki Beach and the International Market lies at about the same distance. Numerous restaurants serving international cuisine are located in the neighbourhood. Honululu airport is roughly 15 km from the hotel.

Facility

217 rooms are located on 16 storeys and can be reached by lift. Check-in and check-out are possible at any time at the reception desk. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. Complimentary newspapers are available.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. The kitchenette comes with a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (for a fee) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The hotel has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy golf and fishing. For a fee, cycling/mountain biking is also available. Water sports available at the hotel include windsurfing, banana boat rides, canoeing and snorkelling. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and aerobics. The wellness area's offerings provide pure relaxation and include a spa and a beauty salon. For a fee, massage treatments is also available.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. The hotel also offers picnics.

    Rigid communication and lack of support during Honolulu State of Emergency

    During the March 2026 state of emergency in Hawaii, our experience with the Luana Waikiki management was deeply disappointing. While the mayor and local news warned against travel due to flooding and road closures, the hotel’s service was entirely dismissive of the situation.When we reached out to discuss the impossibility of reaching the property safely, the management’s only response was to send a screenshot of a document. There was no attempt to provide local guidance, no empathy for the emergency conditions, and no personalized communication. This level of service is concerning for a hospitality business, especially during a natural disaster. If you value proactive communication and helpful staff, I suggest looking elsewhere.

    We had a great time enjoying the pool, and the entire facility. We liked the views of the nearby parks and the quick walk through the park to the beach.

    This is one of my preferred hotels to go to in Honolulu. Rooms are spacious and reasonably priced. Location is perfect too.
