    Room smell

    The room had a bad smell, likely due to a rotten carpet or the air conditioner filter, making for a very unpleasant night. Our clothes in our suitcases retained this odor, which is a shame for such a reputable establishment. The staff, however, were very friendly.

    A few misses and no hot water.

    Well, this is my stay that put me over the Silver to Gold status level. I wish things had gone a little smoother. The hotel is great. The staff are incredibly nice. But, there was no hot water in room 128. The staff offered another room to shower in, until they could remedy the issue. Alex at the front desk offered to move me. But I had already settled in, unpacked and didn't want to repack, move to maybe a less desirable location and unpack. I chose not to move. This room is on the backside of the hotel and super quiet. Also ground floor, so just steps from my car. Maintenance came to the room and I think they tried to fix the water problem, but 2 days later, I'm showering at my gym. I did report the issue again today. Farrukh was responsive and very nice. The other issues with the room....there's little lighting. Normally in these king studio suites, there is a floor lamp next to the sofa and another light on the desk in the middle of the room. None here. During the day it's ok, as I just opened the curtains. During the night...it's dark. No luggage rack. I usually keep my clothes in the closet, so I don't feel like I'm sleeping in my closet. Let's discuss the app. If I message the hotel using the app, then check the app notices. Of 5 messages, I only got a reply to one. So I called and then shlepped to the front desk to report the water issue. And, if the app and email I receive, say "check in digitally", and I do, then I shouldn't have to stop at the front desk to swipe my credit card (the same that's on my account), to obtain a room key. I was up at 3am to drive to Houston and worked all day. Once I arrived at the hotel, I was told my room must not be ready due to housekeeping (it was after 5pm). I received the key for the room I selected on the app. They just wanted a swipe of a $50 deposit. I don't mind the deposit. I mind wasting my time trying to figure out why my digital key doesn't work. Then to unpack and get into a cold shower. Not the best start to my stay. This isn't the only Hilton property in Houston that has digital app problems, but I don't stay at those properties anymore. So, just a couple of issues that I think should be easily fixed. Not sure I'll stay here again. I normally stay closer to one of my offices, but decided to put myself between two office locations. Really though...nice staff in this hotel.

    Worst experience ever

    I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent reservation at Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Houston North IAH, for September 15–16, 2025.This was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. I completed check-in through the Hilton app, payment was processed, and my room was confirmed and assigned. However, when my family members arrived to check in, they were denied access despite their names being included in the reservation. One of them had a valid ID and credit card for incidentals, yet the supervisor refused to honor the reservation, stating that because he was under 21, he could not check in—even though the hotel’s own policy states the minimum age to register is 18.Not only did the supervisor show no empathy or willingness to help, but instead, my family was treated with hostility. Shockingly, they were even threatened with law enforcement if they did not leave the property. This treatment was completely unacceptable, discriminatory, and directly contradicted the hotel’s published policies. To make matters worse, the reservation could not be canceled, leaving us without a room and without options.As a Hilton Honors member, I am appalled by the lack of professionalism, the disregard for Hilton’s own standards, and the absence of basic hospitality. I have never been disrespected or threatened in such a manner at any hotel.I strongly urge Hilton to investigate the conduct of the staff and management at this property. No guest should ever have to go through this experience. I left this hotel feeling mistreated, discriminated against, and extremely disappointed in what should have been a trusted brand.

    The staff at this hotel demonstrate exceptional professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction.During my stay, I had the opportunity to be assisted by Mr. Farrukh at the front desk. He is a true gentleman, highly knowledgeable in the hospitality industry, and provided service with courtesy and efficiency.The accommodations were also of a high standard. The room was impeccably maintained, and the bed offered excellent comfort.I confidently recommend this hotel for its outstanding personnel and its well-appointed, comfortable accommodations.

    We stayed here for one night in February. It was perfect for our needs - it wasnt too far from the airport - the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast in the morning in the hotel was great a really good set up and the buffet was basic but really good.The make your own waffles was a total winner - not something we have in Australia but I am now hooked.
