    The Homewood Suites Stafford is screened off from the Southwest Freeway by other hotel buildings, a plus. The facility was well-maintained and very clean. The layout was nice with a small living/dining room, a galley-style kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There was plenty of storage for long-term residents. Parking was adequate and convenient.Our bedroom HVAC unit was noisy--bearings were probably starting to go. Part of the floor creaked when we walked on it. Footfalls from the next upper floor were loud. Voices came through the bedroom wall--why these hotels don't have better sound separation I'll never know.Breakfast was ample and quite good for the most part. The front desk people were courteous and attentive.     Not welcoming if you’re African American

    Not very welcoming to the African American race. Went to get breakfast in the morning and while I was serving myself front desk staff Tanya and a security guard harassed me and demanded to know my name and room number. As a Diamond member that travels weekly I’ve never had an experience like this at any Hilton property world wide. I was the only patron that they did this to while people of every other race was allowed to get their breakfast without incident. Was never issued an explanation or apology. Rude staff and major construction work. I will never visit this location again.     BEWARE!!! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

    My wife and I typically love staying here in the past for the convenience of proximity but after this weekend never! The Front Desk Clerk April is aggressive, unprofessional, ghetto, takes random smoke breaks, and is hardly at the front desk. She ultimately made our 4-night stay very unpleasant. - I love to use my digital key for Hilton properties but mine didn't work for this property and April did not try to assist however went on about technology and Hilton need to upgrade their digital key while issuing me room keys.-Another interaction the same as a previous reviewer April became very aggressive when asking about the late checkout as we are in our 50's and booked under the AARP rate. She stated the hotel was not full and a late checkout was possible however when I was trying to explain to her we were booked under the AARP rate she stated no she could not honor that rate and if we stayed past 12 her GM (Roxanne) would definitely charge us over time. It was a complete scene and uncalled for not to honor a rate Hilton clearly advertises if availability premises, in which April had already stated the hotel was not full.- My wife and I came home very frustrated. We will be escalating our concerns to corporate, and will be sure to provide this feedback on every platform!     Unexpected guests in the room

    After I checked in to the room, two other “guests” unlocked my door with a card and went straight in to the room, I don’t know if they where thief’s or just other guests who just got into the wrong room.When I talked to the reception about this they just said that it’s not possible for anyone else to open the door since it’s only booked for me.After I got a new room, I had to get new keycards every day for the rest of my stay since they stopped working.     They are really trying!

    This is a bit of a mixed review. I was welcomed very warmly at this property, and it seems like it is run by a family and they are all very friendly and helpful. They even have a manager's reception for the guests with free food and drinks. The property is in pretty good working order.On the negative side, the hotel isn't in the nicest area, although I would not say it's dangerous or anything. I have a pet that I need to walk every night, and did feel safe, but the lack of sidewalks on a few of the streets made it a bit challenging. Also, the air conditioning in our room did not seem to be working very well. We had it set at the lowest temperature possible, and it was still pretty warm and stuffy in the room. Other than that, everything was fine and our room was really nice and big for our three nights stay.
