    Overall, an okay hotel. It was a 10 minute walk from my venue, which is why I chose this hotel.Pros:- I was generously upgraded to a suite. Very large room but definitely on the dated side.- Restaurant staff are very friendly and the food was good.- There is a house car available for use within a small radius. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to use it.- They have a package where they will provide two monitors, keyboard, mouse and docking station which was great for working in the room.Cons:- the pool is very small and not many chairs. It is not a serviced pool, so no food or beverage available. - Housekeeping is slow. And when they did service it, they emptied the trash and replaced towels but it was not a full servicing of the room. However they were very friendly and made sure the room was stocked with lots of towels and water.- Large amount of homeless people outside the hotel. One even tried to follow me into the hotel (but he was stopped by hotel security)The price was definitely good value for money though. If the price is right, I would consider staying again, but I would also look at other options.     The Hotel Magnolia is a beautiful property with comfortable beds, and the breakfast was delicious, but we ultimately think there are better options in downtown Houston.The location is excellent, especially if you’re going to a baseball game, but there were a few issues that impacted our stay. Our room was not ready at the 4:00 PM check-in time, and the lobby was crowded with guests still waiting at 4:30 when we were able to get our room.Additionally, only two elevators were working, which led to waits of 10+ minutes just to go up or down.Finally, be sure to review your bill at checkout. We booked a rate that included breakfast and were given coupons to present to the servers, but were still incorrectly charged even after presenting the coupons during breakfast. The front desk was able to remove the extra charges.Overall, while the hotel has some strong positives, we will consider other nearby options next time.     Willing to step up when we needed them most

    We came on a volleyball tournament trip. The staff was incredibly accommodating to our last-minute request for an opportunity for team bonding in a semi private space. They were helpful in giving us service on the third floor, and we greatly appreciate all the bar staff.
