    Mixed bag

    rating13 Jun 2026

Mixed bag, for sure. Long check in line, but wowed Curry who sent complimentary champagne to our room after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Check out was ridiculous. Waited in line to tell them to charge valet parking, and they told us that the valet could do so. Went outside to the valet who, of course, couldn’t charge anything and told us that only the front desk could charge. So, had to go back, stand in line, again, and tell them to charge the valet fee so that we could finally have them go get our car. Asked what we could do differently… “nothing”. Thanks, Marriott. Always great to be Titanium Elite. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Marriott Marquis Houston, responded to this review Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for sharing your honest experience. We are really pleased that Curry made your anniversary special with champagne! We are sorry to hear about the confusion at checkout regarding the valet charges. We can imagine how this might have affected your experience, and we appreciate your patience and feedback. We will use it to enhance our processes and ensure a smoother experience. Thank you for being a Titanium Elite member and for staying with us. We hope to make your next Houston visit truly flawless.Best Regards, Anthony Smetana Director of Room Operations

If you stay there they will regulate you everywhere. It is like pre-school. Even when you try to enter the Pool-Area they check your private Purse. And if you have a Candy inside you have to leave it at the checkpoint.Even they stolen my newbought Dress. We left it after Room-Change at the old Room and they were not able to find it. It was new still with the Tag on it. We booked the Hotel for the Pool. We have never entered the Pool becaused at no Point we felt welcome at that Hotel. At the end of the day the three days at this hotel were a nightmare an the worst days of our vacation. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Marriott Marquis Houston, responded to this review Dear Voyage13702742120,Thank you for choosing our hotel and sharing your perspective. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback as it is essential for improvement. Cold pool

    rating11 May 2026

For a hotel positioned as a luxury property with luxury pricing, my friend and I left feeling underwhelmed. There were no robes or slippers in the room, and only one bottle of water was provided. The biggest disappointment, though, was the pool. It looks impressively large—very Texas—but the water was uncomfortably cold that evening. After a long day, we were really looking forward to relaxing in the pool, which was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. With the rates this property charges, I expected the pool to be heated, or at least warm enough to enjoy. Service at the pool was also lacking. Although an attendant was stationed at the entrance, no one approached us or offered any assistance. We arrived around 9:10 pm, well before closing time, yet it felt like the area was already shutting down. Overall, the experience didn’t match the price point or the luxury branding. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Marriott Marquis Houston, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,We appreciate your feedback. We truly regret any disappointment with our pool and amenities. It sounds like you were looking forward to a comfortable, relaxing swim, and we are truly sorry that the temperature didn't meet your expectations. Your thoughts on room amenities and poolside service are important to us, and we will take them into consideration to improve our offerings and enhance our services. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity to impress you in the future by providing the exceptional stay you deserve.Best Regards,Anthony SmetanaDirector of Room Operations

Worst Marriott Property for Customer Service

    rating07 May 2026

Horrendous customer service. Hotel NOT recommended at all. Manager Micaela Fresia is rude, and puts guests out on the streets close to midnight. She wouldn't let one of our arriving party guests register because of lack of a corporate ID (was in his other bag which has not arrived from the airline yet) despite him being a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with over 3,000 Marriott nights stayed and 4 million active points. She said Marriott status has no meaning at her property. She wouldn't honor the guest's room reservation (yet they honored our other guests who arrived earlier and had been given rooms already). Front desk staff were quite rude and arrogant, and clearly lack adequate training and understanding of de-escalation and customer service practices. This property exhibits no care for frequent Marriott customers who have spent decades staying at their properties. Would never even consider this hotel, and will re-evaluate our corporate preferences.Guest went next door and stayed at the Hilton, with a better experience. Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Marriott Marquis Houston, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,We appreciate you sharing your perspective. We strive to provide wonderful hospitality to all of our guests; therefore, we truly regret that this was not your experience. We understand the importance of recognizing and valuing our loyal guests, especially our Lifetime Titanium Elite members. We will ensure your feedback is conveyed to our team so that we can address these concerns effectively. We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for everyone, and your insights are crucial for us to improve. We hope that you might reconsider visiting us again in the future.Best Regards, Anthony Smetana Director of Room Operations

    Great four night stay!!!

    rating25 Apr 2026

Our first time here at the Marquis for the Innovations Dot / Food conference and we were up graded to a corner suite, 2303 and what a view of the city, the pool and the convention center. Our suite was clean, very roomy, comfy and very spacious. The bed was a large king and very relaxing. A large dining room table, living room area and a nice sized eat in kitchen area. We also did the M club Lounge area which was roomy, plenty of tables, with liquor and beer at night for a fee, and a great breakfast to get you going, light snacks during the day and small bites at 5:30 pm.We also did the pool and the lazy river which was shaped like the state of Texas. That was pretty cool!!! Plenty of seats, lounge chairs all over the pool deck and a large lap pool and hot tub!!! Poolside service available.Overall, very large hotel, wide long lobby, easy walk to the convention center, large pool, beautiful spa, spacious M Club lounge, valet parking, large meeting rooms, huge gym, and we dined and hung out at Biggio's, a sports bar, on the grounds of the main lobby. When Texan's say everything is BIG in Texas, they are right!!!We will be back next year for the same conference!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Marriott Hotels, Guest Services / Front Office at Marriott Marquis Houston, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for sharing your positive experience during your conference with us at the Marriott Marquis Houston. We are delighted you loved the upgrade to the corner suite with its spectacular city views. It is great to hear you enjoyed the M Club Lounge and our unique Texas-shaped lazy river. We appreciate your mention of our amenities and location, and are thrilled to know you will be returning next year! Best Regards, Anthony Smetana Director of Room Operations
