  We found this hotel after a ABnB nightmare and they were everything we wanted for a restful stay and right where we wanted to be.

  Great Stay, the room was clean and spacious. It's kind of out in the country and away from everything which is excactly what i was looking for. Off the service road of highway 249. Great access in and out. Houston itself can be a mad house. I had no issues with parking, which was free. It was a super easy drive into the center of Houston the next morning for my business meeting. I would defientely stay here again. It's just a few minutes from the heart of everything in Tomball. They have a really nice breakfast buffet. I didnt each much but saw they had eggs and bacon, all the juices, toast, bagels, cereal etc... The price was just right. The bed and pillow were comfortable and clean. Big bathroom and walkin shower. Plus kitchen area. I highly recommend staying here.

  Titanium Member-One Star Due to Awful General Manager

  The only reason for the one star is the General Manager, Dafne. We booked around 15 rooms for my daughter’s wedding (not asking for any special rate by the way) and she was rude from the start. My dad was dying the week before, so my mom’s travel plans changed and she needed us to check in for her. Dafne would not allow this (although as any titanium-which we are-or other member knows, we could have just not told her and downloaded the app on one of our kids phones and logged on as my mom and used the mobile key-because this was an option at this hotel). But, we were honest and she wanted us to pay (my mom used points) Wow! We then had my mom cancel because she ended up not being able to attend, which they did allow after the fact..much appreciated. We then asked what time we could check in as Titanium Member. We were told 4 and if we came before 2, we would be charged a $25 early check in fee. Wow! Dafne strikes again. This has never been the case at any Marriott we have ever stayed at. I mean, if the room is ready, it is ready! They decided to forgo the charge, but it should never have been brought up to us in the first place. My sister, who is a Marriott Gold Member checked in at 1 and got charged the $25 by guess who…Dafne! She is a Marriott Gold Member and her room was ready! There was no reason to charge her.So, if you want to be treated poorly (even as a titanium or any bonvoy member) by a manager on a power trip that doesn’t know how to truly treat a customer with any type of good service or even a smile on her face, stay here. Everyone else that worked here was super friendly and helpful and wonderful to deal with and made our wedding weekend enjoyable—no thanks to Dafne. Don’t know how or why she is the General Manager. Anyone else at that front desk could definitely do the job better!!

  Dark Roast

  The experience overall was acceptable. The unit was beat up a little bit, but not badly. The bathroom was in good condition with what looked like a new shower enclosure. The beds were OK with the ridge effect in the middle. The pillows saved the day actually. The staff was nice with no exceptions. My two major complaints were: 1. The AC/Heat unit blows air constantly no matter how you set it. You have to turn it off completely to get a break from air blowing on your face. 2. Maybe this is a laughable first-world problem, but the only coffee available in the building was dark roast. I despise dark roast and had to go without coffee for 4 days. Hotels used to be known for good medium roast coffee or at least offering 2 choices. I guess the Starbucks Kids have wielded their influence over Marriott. Even the coffee in the room was dark roast only. I've never seen anything like this actually. If you're only going to offer one thing, make it middle of the road. It's like going to a baseball game where they only offer one beer, and it's the the bitterest IPA that anybody not a beard oil using hipster would want to spit out. Lastly, Marriott deserves praise for the breakfast variety. The entrees aren't always good and are probably cooked from frozen, but the variety is great, including waffles, boiled eggs, etc. Everybody should be able to find something for breakfast (except good coffee) :-) Dafne Torres, General Manager at Residence Inn Houston Tomball, responded to this review Dear jrmcc999,Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us.   Everything at this hotel was perfect. The rooms, the service, the amenities. All requests were met with a smile and a positive answer. Housekeeping was provided daily without requests. The hotel parking lot was clean. All doors wer kept secure. No complaints.
