    Upon arriving at front desk, the person behind the desk immediately states, "Shut the Fu&k up". I was caught off guard and he laughed and said, "not you". I realize he had a bluetooth in his ear. After checking in I arrived to the room with all lights on. It seemed as if someone else was in the room. A bar of soap was open and left on the counter. The pillow cases had stains on them but the bed was tightly made. I also noticed stick circles on the desk top as if drinks had spilled and not been wiped up. I notified the front desk personal. He up-graded my room and moved me to a different floor. Upon arriving to the new room, I noticed the pillow cases were also stained. The toilet was unclean with visiable stains on the seat and bowl. The bathroom floor was dirty and the room smelled like mildew. At this point it was almost 1AM, I decided to rough the night and request housekeeping in the morning. Unfortunately, once they arrived she demanded that I leave the room in order for her to clean it. I said no, I was not going to stand in the hall while she clean (judging by the cleaniness of the room, it wouldn't be long). I booked the room for 4 nights so I wanted a clean room and planned to managed it myself after a clean bathroom and fresh sheets. The housekeeper told me to call the front desk/mgr and walked off without cleaning the room. There was not a phone in the room to call the front desk. After, looking up the direct phone number, I used my cell to call. The number was disconnected and I was not able to make contact. I get the impression the cleaning crew is limited and inexperience. The funiture in the room was worn as well. The desk chair was peeling and unstable.

    Terrible hotel, and they do not refund the security deposit. Their staff seems to be accomplice to the fraud.

    To Sonesta Essential Hotel Houston,I am writing to formally express my serious concern and dissatisfaction regarding the non-refund of my $100 security deposit.This week marks a month since I checked out, and despite multiple follow-ups, including at least 8 phone calls and prior email correspondence, my refund has still not been processed. This level of delay is completely unacceptable for what should be a straightforward transaction.At this point, I am compelled to state that this situation is beginning to appear as a potential pattern of misconduct, where guests are being unfairly deprived of their deposits. The lack of response to my recent calls and the continued absence of resolution further reinforce this concern.Please be advised that I have carefully documented all communications to date, including call logs and email exchanges. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to escalate it legally. I am prepared to engage my lawyer to initiate formal proceedings against your establishment to recover my funds and charges for the inconvenience caused.This email serves as a final notice.     I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at this location.I arrived around 10 PM on March 6th with a confirmed reservation and stood at the front desk for over 15 minutes without being greeted while two employees talked about their shift.When I politely asked if guests were normally not acknowledged, the employee became hostile and began yelling at me. I was called unintelligent and told I “needed to attend college.” He then mocked me by saying I must think I’m a “queen or princess.”When I asked to speak with a manager, both employees laughed and said there was nothing I could do. The employee then canceled my reservation in front of me as if I had never shown up.I have never been treated with this level of disrespect by hotel staff in my life. Completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional.

    I have no idea how this hotel managed to earn a 3-star rating, because nothing about my stay came close to that level. The entire building is rundown and looks like it hasn’t seen real maintenance in years. The furniture is old, beat-up, and belongs in a thrift store, not a hotel room.I had to run the water for almost 10 minutes just to get anything remotely warm. And instead of fixing problems, the staff’s solution seems to be shuffling guests from one problematic room to another.The bathroom was the final straw. The shower curtain didn’t even fit the stall, so water blasted out and drenched the entire floor. It felt more like a locker room disaster than a hotel bathroom.This place needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.     Nasty hotel infested with roaches and the front desk lady is racist and will not give you any manager’s information. Not to mention the phone number is and has been out of service. They intentionally pretend to be Wyndham by keeping the old contact information online. Fake manager Jim Faris who you have to email and doesn’t provide his number either—who will lie and send you ChatGPT responses with no follow up. $500 dollars stolen out of the first roach-infested room I was in and now they are saying they don’t have it. I will be pursuing legal action and reporting them to the better business bureau, health department, and of course, the police!
