    A Very Nice Hotel Experience

    rating24 Apr 2026

Typically I will write lengthy and detailed reviews. Not necessary for the Hotel Indigo Downtown Kansas City. Every aspect of this stay was what a guest would hope for: Great check in experience with a friendly staff, bright and active lobby area. The elevator was clean and smelt fresh, the corridors orderly and then to feel good about entering a clean and well organized room. Corner room 810 had comfortable beds, good views and was quiet. Breakfast the next morning in the hotel restaurant was delicious with a variety of both interesting original and traditional choices. Great location for downtown attractions, one block from the Main Street street car. I want to stay at this hotel again. And will. GABRIELA DAVIS, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown By IHG, responded to this review Hello,Thank you so much for taking the time to share such an incredible review. We are truly honored by your kind words, and it means a great deal to hear that every aspect of your stay reflected exactly what a guest would hope for. We’re delighted you enjoyed a smooth check-in experience and found our lobby bright, welcoming, and full of energy. It is also wonderful to know you noticed the cleanliness and fresh atmosphere throughout the hotel—from the elevator and corridors to your guest room. Our team takes great pride in maintaining a comfortable and well-kept environment, and your recognition truly means a lot.We are especially pleased to hear you enjoyed your corner room on the 8th floor, along with the quiet atmosphere, comfortable beds, and great views. We’re also thrilled you had the opportunity to dine with us for breakfast and enjoyed both the quality and variety of the menu.Thank you again for highlighting our convenient downtown location and proximity to the streetcar. DONT USE THE PULLOUT

    rating03 Apr 2026

Honestly really really cool up to date hotel in a prime location…BUT unfortunately the valet service isn’t reliable with really really slow service and the prices shouldn’t be that expensive for subpar service in my opinion. Also if your advertising rooms with pullout mattresses they better be comfortable not a glorified 2x4 with feathers and rods- As you may have figured it out by now I had to sleep on the awful pullout Andrew Weber, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown By IHG, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the hotel’s modern design and our prime downtown location, though I’m very sorry that other parts of your stay did not meet expectations.I sincerely apologize for the valet experience you described. We understand how important timely and reliable service is, and I regret that this was not your experience. I also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the sleeper sofa, as comfort and rest are extremely important to us, and I’m sorry it did not provide a good night’s sleep.Your comments have been shared with our team so we can continue working to improve both service efficiency and in-room comfort.Thank you again for your candid feedback. We truly appreciate it and hope we have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. With Hospitality,Andrew WeberAssistant General Managerandrew.weber@glmghotels.com

    Chappel Roan Concert Stay

    rating18 Oct 2025

We selected this place because my daughter was attending the Chappel Roan concert and we wanted something within walking distance and while the price was not cheap, it was the most reasonable in the area. It did not start well as check-in as at 4 PM, but we wanted to get in sooner so she could change into her outfit. We drove in from the Chicago area and called around 2 PM saying we were ahead of schedule and asked if a room could be ready by 2:30 and the lady on the phone said yes. We then arrived and went to the counter and mentioned we were the ones that called and the man at the desk said, ‘nobody called’ and ‘are you sure you are at the right location?.’ I then started to doubt myself, but then remembered that the lady asked for our reservation number and confirmed it, and then he said it doesn’t matter, and we could still check-in.Check-in issues aside, once we got to the room, we loved it from as they renovated a 1930’s train building. The room was spacious and had very modern touches such as an upscale shower. There was a refrigerator in the room but not a microwave. Usually the hallways are an afterthought, but even those were really well done and had nice artwork as well. We did not get a chance to use it, but the fitness center looked above average from a regular hotel, and they did not have a pool. It should be noted that there is no self-parking, and it is valet only, but we did not mind as they came out with the car quickly when we needed it. They also had a restaurant for breakfast and the menu looked fine, but there was nobody there when we left at 10 AM on Sunday, so it was not a good sign considering the hotel was full.Overall, we loved the hotel itself and if we had to stay in downtown Kansas City again, we would stay here. Andrew Weber, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown By IHG, responded to this review Hi CDTrip72,Thank you for your detailed review and for choosing to stay with us while attending the Chappell Roan concert. I apologize for the check-in confusion you experienced — that interaction does not reflect the welcoming service we aim to provide, and I appreciate you sharing it so we can address it internally. We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the character of our renovated 1930s train building, the spacious rooms, modern touches, and thoughtful artwork throughout the hotel. I’m glad our valet service was convenient and that you appreciated Dott Boss and our fitness center. Your feedback about breakfast service is noted, and we’ll continue looking for ways to improve that experience. It’s wonderful to know that, overall, you loved your stay, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our downtown Kansas City neighborhood in the future. With Hospitality,Andrew WeberAssistant General Managerandrew.weber@glmghotels.com

This place is a joke! The will over charge you!

    rating10 Aug 2025

This is the worst ever IHG property I have stayed at. The front desk staff is totally clueless. The will over charge you once you check out. Stay away at all costs! Not worth the hassle and stress. Andrew Weber, Owner at Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown By IHG, responded to this review Dear casados_cloud,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand how unexpected charges can cause frustration, and I want to sincerely apologize for any confusion during your stay. The additional fees you mentioned—Missouri state, federal, and city taxes, as well as our nightly valet parking charge—are standard and consistent across downtown IHG Hotels and Resorts, including ours here in the heart of Kansas City’s vibrant neighborhood. These charges are clearly listed on all booking platforms to help guests plan ahead. At Hotel Indigo, we strive to provide a transparent and welcoming experience that reflects the unique spirit of our city and community. Your feedback helps us better communicate these details so every stay feels seamless and comfortable. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if I can assist further. With Hospitality,Andrew WeberAssistant General Managerandrew.weber@glmghotels.com
