Average hotel in downtown Memphis. Beware of the rooms facing the back of Beale Street.

    rating11 Mar 2026

Stayed here during the week with friends. The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we walked into our room, we saw two pairs of earplugs on the table by the bed and went, "uh oh." Sure enough, there was a loud band playing in one of the clubs across the alley from our hotel until midnight or so. We did come to Memphis for the Blues, so it wasn't horrible. What wasn't so great were the stains on one of the chairs in the room, and a very meh breakfast selection. Would stay in a different room next time.

    Fantastic location

I really liked this hotel, not least for its amazing location, so near to Beale Street, and also the Peabody Hotel if you wish to see the Peabody Ducks. The bathroom was big with lots of hooks to hang things up. I liked the bathroom night light which I could leave on.I really liked looking over nearby bars and music venues, it was a great atmosphere. It was nice even when back in the room to see the night life. If you stay at a hotel near Beale Street embrace the noise and life, don’t moan about it!Another excellent thing about this hotel is the constant supply of coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the foyer. My friends and I loved returning in the evening and sitting having a hot chocolate in the comfortable foyer. We also got cookies, lemonade and crisps when we first arrived.

DON’T EXPECT HOSPITALITY AT THIS HOTEL

    rating18 Jan 2026

Let’s start with making the reservation. The clerk was nearly nonverbal and seemed to do the things I asked, but never told me when he was completing one of those things. Upon arrival, I found the automatic doors to the lobby locked. A sign said try the doors to the left and right of the automatic doors. They were both locked another person checking in and I couldn’t figure out how to get into the lobby. We tried waving at and shouting to the two people at the desk and eventually they noticed us and shouted something across the lobby that we couldn’t hear through the glass. So I banged my cane on the glass (the rubber part) and neither one of them would come to the door. They just shouted across the lobby what we couldn’t hear. Eventually, we noticed a small sign next to the doors that said to ring the buzzer, and then they would let us in. We did that and we did enter. They were not apologetic about this welcome for a guest. What they claimed was that they felt endangered when I finally tapped on the window. Neither one of them would move from their chairs behind the desk across the lobby. The room itself is acceptable, but dark.

    Surprise Guests

    rating08 Nov 2025

We arrived late in the day and were tired. Check-in was quick. I'm not sure how it happened, but as we were getting ready to step out and get ice, the door was opening. The same room was keyed for 2 different people. We're not quire into that type of lifestyle. The staff quickly corrected the mistake. Breakfast the next day was a full feast! I didn't know they did that anymore.
