Location

The hotel is ideally located right on Lexington Avenue, across from the Waldorf Astoria, close to Fifth Avenue shopping, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and a short walk away from the theatre district. LaGuardia Airport lies around 15 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 209 suites, which are located on 26 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Other services include a car hire service, room service, a laundry service and a hairdresser. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (for a fee) are provided as well. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has family rooms and 209 non-smoking rooms.

    Excellent hotel, fantastic service , hospitality at the maximum level

    Me my wife and our 16month old son stayed at the hotel for 6 days and i must say we were more then impressed. The suite was big , new and super clean.The staff is amazing . In the restaurant , lobby and the reception they all deserve high praises.The food and drinks are delicious aswell.Will definitely come back and recommend this place to everyone!See you soon .     Lovely hotel but one bad experience

    We recently stayed at The Benjamin for a special weekend getaway, and there were many aspects of our stay that were truly wonderful. The concierge was exceptionally professional and helpful when I requested help in arranging cake and champagne to celebrate my husband’s birthday be ready in our room for our arrival. We also really enjoyed our experience at The Parliament restaurant; the staff there were warm, attentive, and made dining a pleasure. Our one-bedroom suite was spacious, comfortable, and exactly what we were hoping for, great space with kitchen.However, there was one very disappointing experience that unfortunately overshadowed what would have otherwise been a lovely weekend. A member of housekeeping knocked on our door around 6:00 PM, and when we explained that we were heading out to dinner at 6:30 and that it was not a problem if the room wasn’t serviced, she responded by yelling at us, this happened twice because she returned as we were leaving even though we said we did not need the room serviced. We really had only requested some towels but the front desk said they could send someone to freshen up. The interaction was unexpected and upsetting to say the least. We live a little over an hour north of nyc and chose this staycation as a way to celebrate not only my husband’s birthday, but also the completion of my chemotherapy treatment, after an incredibly difficult year that included the loss of my mother. We were able to get away to see a show, museum and some nice dinners. Because of that, this trip held a lot of meaning for us, and the negative encounter with housekeeping really detracted from what should have been a positive and memorable experience.To the hotel’s credit, a manager did apologize when I spoke to him and acknowledged the situation, but beyond that, no further action was taken. We hope that additional training is provided to this particular housekeeper to ensure more respectful and professional interactions with guests in the future.Overall, The Benjamin has many strengths, but this experience left us disappointed and did impact what should have been a special weekend.     Amazing terrace suite

    A fabulous hotel in a great location. We were surprised with a free upgrade to a terrace suite and it really made our stay extra special, we enjoyed a cold beer on the terrace on an evening after lots of walking around the city. The hotel is really conveniently located, the staff were friendly and helpful. We paid a security deposit when we checked in, this was refunded back to us within 24 hours of checking out. Room minibar is priced as you would expect but there’s lots of space in the fridge to store your own things. The bed is huuuuge! And very comfortable. Bathroom was small but adequate, lots of storage space too for cases.     I recently spent three weeks at the Royal Sonesta and it truly felt like a home away from home. As a Platinum member, I was generously upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom corner king suite, which made such a long stay incredibly comfortable.Our room was always spotless each day, thanks to Cheryl in housekeeping.What really sets this hotel apart though is the staff. After just a short time everyone seemed to recognize us and greet us by name, which made the experience feel personal and warm.At The Parliament, Said, Carlos, Elizabeth, and Dimitri were always so kind and genuinely happy to see us. They took the time to recommend nearby spots that we ended up trying and every single one was fantastic.Teju, the bellman, was also amazing. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile while assisting with anything we needed throughout our stay.And a special shoutout to Ivan at the front desk, who consistently made sure we were taken care of and went out of his way to make our stay seamless.Staying somewhere for three weeks really gives you a sense of how a place operates day to day, and the Royal Sonesta exceeded expectations across the board.     The Benjamin Hotel was a lovely surprise. From the friendly doorman who greeted us with a smile to the front desk staff our experience was first rate. The hotel is conveniently located near two subway stations and Grand Central. The suite we stayed in was beautiful and the cleaning staff was friendly and efficient. It also had a nice gym for a quick workout and a very good restaurant where we had a delicious celebratory dinner. The hotel is located near many restaurants where you can get a cup of coffee, healthy meal or bagel and cream cheese if you like. An enjoyable stay is centered around a friendly hotel staff.
