    Worst hotel and customer service. Does not have full kitchen and only microwave. I booked 3 rooms for 3 weeks and had to cancel all except for 2 rooms for 1 night so they end up charging me a cancellation fee. They would not waived the fee nor upgrade the rooms for Diamond Elite. Be careful getting yourself into a mess.     Dirty and bad location...

    This hotel was the worst hotel I have stayed in. I have travelled for work for over 20 years and have never experienced something so awful. The bathroom floor had not seen a side of a mop in a long time, I was forced to cover the floor with towels. There were dirty footprints on the floor and lots of stains. I have 2 requirements - safety and cleanliness. The area had a lot to be desired. The fitness center had 3 machines - do yourself a favor and stay someplace else!     Flew into San Diego, so started and ended our trip at this hotel. I had no issues with anything…. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, felt safe, good breakfast… It was everything I wanted.My only beef was the San Diego traffic, but can’t blame the hotel for that. Ha!

    Chose this hotel based on the awesome reviews from previous guests and we had an awesome experience. Rooms are newly renovated, spacious, clean and comfortable. Each staff member we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze and so glad this hotel had ample free parking. We never had an issue finding parking when returning late. The breakfast attendant was so sweet (sorry didn't get her name) but she was there each day we had breakfast. She always checked to make sure the food was replenished. Breakfast options while travelling w/my family and kids were a win, sausage, bacon, fried potatoes and biscuits and gravy. Such a great value for a hotel to have free breakfast and free parking. I'm so happy I chose this hotel out of the many hotels I was debating to stay at. The surrounding area can seem a little sketchy but we felt safe overall. The hotel is close to SD zoo, Sea World, Walmart, shopping areas and food options. Thank you Holiday Inn Express South-Chula Vista for the warm hospitality. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit San Diego!!

    Stayed here for 6 nights on our recent visit. Neat and clean room was serviced as required. Front of house staff are exceptionally pleasant and courteous. Great free breakfast is an added bonus. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel for family stays!
