    Dissatisfied

    rating27 May 2026

Didn’t get 2 beds only king available. Key cards had to be reactivated and still had hard time. Dirty curtains, hot water not hot enough when showering so it’s like cold shower! Hair dryer not working properly. Refrigerator freezed my fruit and food! Have not yet to receive my $100 deposit! B Patel, Marketing at Travelodge by Wyndham San Diego SeaWorld, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry that you had these issues, I will absolutely send this to the manager to resolve, we always do our best to ensure that we get you the rooms you request, however unless booking with us directly, your chances do diminish a bit (and it depends if holiday weekend or a large scale event for the city of San Diego then it might be a bit tougher especially for a smaller hotel such as our. We do apologize) the key cards are deactivated when put right next to your Phone or OR a Computer can do it as well, as far as our Fridge there is a knob with the opportunity to set it where you want it. We do not keep your deposit, we never see the funds they are placed on hold and upon check out of the room is fine then we release the hold and it is up to your bank to then release the funds back to your account. We do appreciate your feedback and we do hope that this helps explain a little bit.

NEVER AGAIN. Threatened by person behind the desk. Very unnerving.

    rating29 Mar 2026

Abused by the front desk around 5:30 PM. I had checked out earlier that day and picked up my bags. Was heading to the airport and had to dig out passport. After I had unpacked a few things, I was then threatened by the young man behind desk: "I am locking the lobby. You have 3 minutes, then I'm calling the police." WTF? In what world? No reason given; apparently they are understaffed and have to lock the lobby if the 1 person there has to take a piss break or go smoke. I was a guest and stayed there for a number of days, not a vagrant. Who does that to PAYING CUSTOMERS? Otherwise, the tattered old room with several broken appliances and free decent coffee were fine! Morning and afternoon desk staff were normal and not mean. B Patel, Marketing at Travelodge by Wyndham San Diego SeaWorld, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback. Yes you checked out 6 hours prior, and yes we do have policies in effect to ensure that our hotel runs smoothly, you were kindly asked to vacate so that our staff could move forward with their duties, you refused, and we will not share what words were used in the conversation for your privacy, however, we stand behind our staff. We wish you the best in your future travels. Thank you.

    Freak show at this Travelodge

    rating28 Jan 2026

Owner is a conman 1037765266I was treated rudely by the front desk and the owner. Booked room online and paid for it then was demanded a $100 deposit when I arrived, that was not mentioned when booking. Internet didn't work. Water was shut off the entire day. They had no pool, no sundries shop, no breakfast, check out at eleven, no fitness room and the entire property was as ghetto as it comes. The owner (Patel) told me all hotels charge deposit, which is a blatant lie. I have never been charged a deposit when staying at Marriott, Hilton, Best Western, Holiday Inn and several other hotel/motels. They will ask you for a certain dollar amount on your credit card for incidentals and room service charges, however, you can decline if you will not be using the services available for room charges, then the owner told me that was a lie. He was gas lighting like a typical scammer, that's how his kind are wired. This was an atrocious experience full of lies, noise, rudeness and a less then desirable demographic to go with the hood rat mentality here. B Patel, Marketing at Travelodge by Wyndham San Diego SeaWorld, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback, we have seen this exact review before, with a different hotel, (not our hotel) and we take these accusations very seriously, it is one thing to not agree with certain policies, but these accusations are not true. EVERY HOTEL either collects a DEPOSIT in CASH OR they put a HOLD on FUNDS from the card that is used to book the room, this includes the hotels that you mentioned, it is to protect the hotel in case of accidents or issues with the room being damaged, if there is no damage then the cash will returned upon check out, if the funds were put on a credit card the funds are released immediately upon check out, it then takes YOUR banking institution 7-10 business days for the funds to be released. The Travelodge (our rate is generally under $100 and the Marriott is $505 a night) we cannot be compared, the Marriott is a full service hotel and we are a limited service, affordable hotel and you trade certain amenities for the price, we advertise exactly what we have to offer online, we are very transparent, and we have been in this industry for well over 20 years, we care about our guests and their comfort. We do understand that we are not for everyone and we wish you the best in your future endeavors, finding a hotel that suits your needs.

Travelodge's False Advertising of "Mobility Accesible" Amenities

    rating29 Nov 2025

(This is an update to a previous review. TripAdvisor doesn’t allow edits/updates, so I deleted the original review. What follows is my 1. my initial review. 2. a response from their management 3. my response to their response.)I booked a "mobility accessible" room directly through the wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge website. The website said the room I booked included "Free WiFi, bathtub/shower combination, bathtub grab bars, adjustable hand-held shower wand, bathroom is wheelchair accessible, portable shower seat," etc.I checked in for a 3-night stay and found there was no "bathtub/shower combination." There was no "adjustable hand-held shower wand." And there was no "portable shower seat." I immediately went back to the lobby next door. The young man who checked me in said there was nothing he could do about that, that's just the way the room is and there was no other room. He added that if I don't like it I could come back in the morning to complain about it to someone else. I did make note of this again during the daytime and was again told there was nothing they could do about it. I booked the room for a Nov 15 stay and prepaid $114.16 for that night on the wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge website based on its false claims. (I had also, a month earlier, separately booked the same mobility accessible room for Nov 16-18 through a third-party booking site, but I later needed to come a day earlier, so booked the Nov 15 night on the wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge website). Since Travelodge sold me a bill of goods on this 3-day stay, I feel I should be refunded. Not nearly as important, but the "free wifi" is utterly useless: 1Mb/s download and about half that upload. So either fix that or honestly (for a change) advertise it as "free utterly useless wifi."Lastly, readers should know that this "Sea World" Travelodge is 3 miles/10min. away by car, or 30min. by bus including 15min of walking, or more than 2hrs. if you choose to walk there and back.----Response from A Management Representative, Marketing at Travelodge by Wyndham San Diego SeaWorldThank you for your feedback, first, I would like to apologize on behalf of our hotel the Travelodge San Diego. I believe that the ADA rooms were already rented and what you received was a regular room. The front desk, should have immediatley refunded your money for the reservation. We will be speaking to our staff, to ensure that this is handled appropriately in the future. As far as our WiFi, we are also sorry that you had trouble, we rarely if ever have any issues or complaints about our complimentary WiFi. Yes you are correct we are about 3 miles from Seaworld, but no we are not on the same street as Seaworld. We understand that all you wanted to do was go to your room and be comfortable and we are so sorry that you had to experience this. I have spoken to the manager and they have assured me they have refunded you for the reservation, it can take 7-10 business days. Please accept our apology and you can call to check on the refund, but please speak with the manager only, as the front desk will not have any information. Thank you!----NO. I did not “receive a regular room.” This property has only two “ADA” rooms -- #109 and #110. I was assigned room 109, which, as stated in my review, was right next to the lobby. #110 was occupied because I could clearly hear the people next door due to the UNsoundproofed walls. My room 109 did have a roll-in shower, the toilet was a few inches taller than average, and there were grab bars. But all of the amenities I noted in my review were non-existent. Those missing amenities are STILL falsely advertised (as of 11/19/25) on the wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge website for this property. You falsely state you “rarely if ever have any issues or complaints about our complimentary WiFi.” There are more than a dozen reviews right here complaining about the terrible wifi. I took a Speedtest screenshot the wifi performance during my stay and it confirmed download speed was 1.32 Mb/s (common home wifi is typically more than 50x faster). I uploaded that screenshot, but TripAdvisor prohibits images from other websites, so that one – and a screenshot from the wyndhamhotels.com/travelodge website listing of the false ADA amenities claims – were prohibited by TripAdvisor’s review rules. As to the property’s self-proclaimed “San Diego SeaWorld” designation, this is a stretch since it’s 3 miles away. You might was well call it “Old Town San Diego” since that is only 1 mile away, or “San Diego Pechanga Arena,” since that’s even closer.I had been checking my credit card website daily to verify the refund of the first night of my 3 night stay. Yesterday, Nov. 28, that refund was credited. My lawyer friend says, “a good settlement is one in which both parties are equally unhappy,” so I won’t pursue this any further. B Patel, Marketing at Travelodge by Wyndham San Diego SeaWorld, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback and update, we appreciate it. We are happy to hear that you received the refund. Thank you.
