    Bed Bugs - Please be Aware!

    BED BUGS- please be aware!!! Please be aware that there is a bed bug infestation at this hotel.In December 27, I woke up from a nap with bed bug bites and soon after discovered bedbugs in the hotel bed. Attached are images of the bugs and bite marks. Upon speaking with the front desk, we were told that they are aware that the 9th and 10th floor rooms have an infestation with the most recent reported incident being about 1 month ago. Hence indicating that the hotel has been aware of this public health hazard and has been knowingly booking clients into these rooms, including me and my family.Please be cautious if you’re currently staying at this hotel as of this post December 28, had stayed at this hotel during the past month, and if you plan to stay here- please be informed. In addition to this disregard of one’s wellbeing, the hotel front desk manager Najoua Sdiri had handled communications with utmost disrespect and lack of empathy. Furthermore, she noted that her plan was to “confirm” there were bed bugs on Monday, December 29, the next day, with an exterminator, exposing guests for another night.We are extremely disappointed because we have stayed at this holiday inn many times with no incident. Also, we are going to have to throw out our bags and clothes as bed bugs are very contagious. Hoping this post saves potential families from suffering our fate. We have been promised a phone call tomorrow to follow up on pest inspection results- we hope they uphold that promise.     Affordable, comfortable, and close to Old Town Alexandria.

    This was a good hotel to stay in that was near Old Town Alexandria. We stayed in a 2 queen-sized bedroom. The prices for a couple nights was affordable and fair. Was not too pleased that we could not get an early check-in due to how busy it was that month, but it was understandable. Also the parking was not free at the hotel. Parking was about $10/day through a paying app. Otherwise, the hotel room was comfortable and cozy. Temperatures in the room could be adjusted as preferred, there were towels in the bathroom, a TV, alarm clock, a safe, and black-out curtains. The breakfast was pretty good. There is coffee in the lobby as well. The front-desk workers were nice for the most part and helped me with what I needed. As for distance to tourist sites, the hotel was near Old Town Alexandria which was walkable or accessible by scooters through a path near the highway. That was convenient. Washington D.C. was a good 20 minute drive away, too. Overall, it was a comfortable and affordable stay here.     Discrimination against the elderly and disabled.

    My elderly disabled mother was discriminated against at this hotel. My mother arrived on the night of December 18, 2025. She had previously called the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower directly because she requires a roll in shower. When we arrived, my mother again told the front desk clerk that she requires a roll in shower. The clerk sent us to a handicapped room with a tub. We went back to the front desk and for the next hour, the clerk gave us excuse after excuse about why my mother didn’t have a handicap room with a roll in shower. She stated the hotel was full (it wasn’t). She said my mother hadn’t booked that kind of room. (My mother did). She said that the system doesn’t tell what kind of shower it has. (Not true, by the end we learned there are only three rooms in the hotel). Finally, she told us someone had booked that room the next week and they were holding it. It was a nasty, horrible experience.     At first the front desk was friendly, and then that declined when there was an issure. There is a billing error. I was charged twice for two different amounts. 291.48 and then 441.48. I only stayed two nights. They keep telling me to contact my bank. My bank says the hotel is holding my money. When I contacted the front desk this morning the front desk manager was very rude and told me to keep waiting for a refund. This is unaccepatble as I was charged over 700.00 for a two night stay. The refrigrator did not work, the room smelled terrible, and bed sheets did not get changed. Overall this was a terrible experience and I will never stay here again!.     The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable atmosphere and a nice breakfast selection in the morning.
