    Very Terrible Experience

    rating06 Jun 2026

In June 2026, I stayed with my family in Cap Town Hotel, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where my experience was terrible; I was forced to pay a charge because the hand towel got stained with tea, even though the very purpose of a hand towel is to wipe away dirt. This was the first time I had ever seen a hotel arbitrarily charge guests for towels. They have their own internal schedule of charges—deciding unilaterally how much to bill a guest if a bedsheet, pillow cover, towel or other things in the room gets damaged—yet no one informs the guest about this prior to booking or at check-in. Their staff arbitrarily decided that the tea stain on the towel could not be removed, whereas hotels typically clean white towels using industrial bleach—a process for which guests are not charged separately. I have traveled extensively within India and to many other countries, but I have never encountered such an arbitrary practice. Generally, the room rate charged by a hotel covers room service, laundry service, and other amenities. However, the staff person at the breakfast buffet were very nice and helpful; they would happily cook eggs for us.

Close to Ben Thanh and other things

    rating13 Jul 2024

Stayed at the Cap Town hotel because I am familiar with the area from previous trips to HCMC. Staff was great, room was nice and the breakfast buffet was just ok. I got down to breakfast at 8am, they finish at night, basically had what was left and the guy was not restocking the food. But otherwise, I enjoyed my stay there. Cap Town Sai Gon Hotel, General Manager at Cap Town Hotel, responded to this review Dear David M,Thanks for sharing your experience! We are glad to hear you enjoyed the staff and your room. We’ll address the breakfast restocking issue to ensure it’s fresh for everyone. We look forward to having you back on your next visit!Best regardsMinh Thư (Mrs)

Great place to stay in District 1 HCMC

    rating05 Jul 2024

We stayed here for 4 nights and appreciated the central location in District 1 with lots of interesting places within walking distance including restaurants and coffee places. Have given this hotel 5 stars for the very kind people at the desk, the help with suitcases, the size of the rooms and a good breakfast. Yes the rooms maybe a little dated but were very clean and comfortable with an excellent air conditioner. Very good service with excellent staff. Cap Town Sai Gon Hotel, General Manager at Cap Town Hotel, responded to this review Dear annemariedD489LO,Thank you for the glowing review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the central location and appreciated the friendly staff, spacious rooms, and breakfast. Safe, comfortable, central location

    rating12 Mar 2024

This hotel is very comfortable, clean and has everything to provide a safe haven away from home. The staff are all very friendly and efficient and most speak English. The location is in the centre of town, walking distance to Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame, Central Post Office, etc with lots of restaurants etc close by. There is a very good coffee and juice bar downstairs and many people enjoyed a drink on the footpath in the morning and evening there. This traffic here is terrifying. Drivers are aggressive and fast and some roads are 6 or 8 lanes wide. But one adapts remarkably quickly! Cap Town Sai Gon Hotel, General Manager at Cap Town Hotel, responded to this review Dear MonkeyDi ,Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you found our hotel to be a comfortable and safe retreat. It's great to know that our friendly and efficient staff made your stay enjoyable and that you appreciated their language skills. We’re also pleased that our central location met your needs, allowing you to easily explore local attractions like Ben Thanh Market and Notre Dame. It sounds like you had a lovely time at our coffee and juice bar, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. We understand that the traffic can be quite an adjustment, but we’re glad to hear that you adapted quickly. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back soon for another enjoyable stay!Safe travels!

Polite, friendly staff and clean rooms

    rating08 Mar 2024

This is a welcoming and efficient hotel that is ideal if you are looking for decent, clean accommodation that doesn't break the bank. Staff are friendly and efficient, speak good English if they are in an interfacing role. Rooms, like many in this price range, are of a once premium spec but now slightly aged - pay more and elsewhere if you want flawless, but if clean, working and nicely presented is good enough you'll be very happy with your choice of this hotel. Wifi available. There is a very fine Indian restaurant next door, many other fine places to eat and drink can be found in easy walking distance. As everywhere in Vietnam, you need to be vigilant and confident when crossing roads. Cap Town Sai Gon Hotel, General Manager at Cap Town Hotel, responded to this review Dear geoffk504,Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that our friendly and efficient staff made a positive impression and that you enjoyed the clean, comfortable accommodation we strive to provide. It’s wonderful to know that you found value in your stay with us and appreciated the amenities, including the convenient Wi-Fi.We’re glad our central location and nearby dining options, like the excellent Indian restaurant next door, added to your experience. And yes, crossing the roads here can certainly be an adventure! We look forward to welcoming you back and appreciate your helpful feedback. Safe travels, and see you next time!Best regardsMinh Thư (Mrs)General Manager
