  We had such a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back! I arrived feeling pretty frazzled because the airline lost my suitcase, but the welcoming staff turned everything around. They even let us into our room early, which was exactly the kind of hospitality we needed.The room was exactly as expected—clean, comfortable, and spacious. While the bathroom was a little on the simpler side, it was perfectly suitable for a short stay in Can Tho. Everything was well-maintained, and we had no complaints at all.We loved the breakfast—there was such a great variety to choose from! More than anything, the staff’s friendly energy made us feel right at home throughout our entire visit. We’d definitely recommend the Muong Thanh to others and would 100% stay again!   We stayed for 3 nights. Large dual aspect room with great views, but very very dated. It was like something out of the 1970s, so very hard to comprehend the hotel was only built 10 years ago. Large stain on bedroom carpet greeted us when we arrived. We were shocked.Fridge didn't chill anything. Bed was large but extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep on, the floor would have offered a similar experience.We had to plug the kettle into a plug by the bed because there were no electrical sockets where the kettle and fridge were situated.WiFi was intermittent and far from high speed.Whenever we used the shower the entire bathroom floor flooded no matter what we did - the design is flawed. In the end the cleaner left us extra towels every day purely to try and soak up all the pools of water. Even though she didn't understand English she understood exactly what the issue was, as it is a common theme, looking at other reviews. Never experienced a shower like it.Breakfast was ok. First day we got to the restaurant at 8.30am and there was some choice but we noticed nothing was replenished whilst we were there. People were arriving at 9am to whatever dregs were left. Second and third day we got to the restaurant for breakfast at 8am and it was just bedlam with coach loads of guests stacking plates sky high with food (and leaving the lids open on all the hot food, meaning it didn't stay warm, which was a good hygiene issue in itself, particularly for the rice and meat) Staff stood around not bringing out clean plates, cups or cutlery, or ensuring there was still tea, coffee and milk. Tables weren't cleared quickly leading to people hanging around waiting for a table. This was at 8am.Coffee and fruit juices (which were heavily watered down) ran out very quickly. If you arrived for breakfast after 8.30am you had no chance.When checking in, the receptionist gave no information about breakfast times, pool opening times, where the restaurant was situated etc. No information could be found in the room either.We didn't use the pool because it meant walking through the reception area and carpark in your swimming gear which wasn't exactly enticing. The pool was always busy. It seems local residents pay to use it which is ok, but not great for guest security.No security in the lifts which is the first time we have experienced this on this trip whilst we have been travelling throughout Thailand, Australia and Vietnam.We were on the 9th floor and the smell of cigarette smoke whilst walking in the communal area to the lifts was overpowering. There were bins by the lifts which had cigarette butts and ash in them.The location is ok, a 10 minute walk over the bridge to shops, bars and restaurants. The grounds outside the hotel were absolutely terrible - lots of rubbish and litter, broken glass, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, it looked like it had been built on a refuse site.We noticed rubbish left on the hotel grounds as well, used plastic coffee cups and bags and the bin we saw was overflowing.How the hotel can be described as luxury remains a mystery.I'm trying hard to find positives. Our room was quiet. Our cleaner was great with towels, water and coffee. If you can find an alternative, avoid as otherwise you will be disappointed.   This is hands down the worse 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in. It looks nice from the outside but when I got to the room it was a disaster. There were bugs in the bed, the shower came flying off the hook when I turned it on flooding the bathroom and the staff aside from one gentleman were pretty unhelpful. The breakfast was pretty tragic aswell. I am not usually one to write a review but this place was an absolute joke. I stayed 1 night and cancelled the other 5 and I am still awaiting a refund.   We stayed here for 2 nights. At first all looked ok but then things started to appear. First thing was a big crack in the biggest window in our room. Being on the 14 floor we thought we had better not lean on this window. The room in general was ok. Every other part of the hotel was boiling as no air conditioning was used. The lobby, restaurant and the lifts felt like saunas. We also wanted to enjoy a few drinks on the rooftop bar but to our surprise the entire hotel run out of every spirit apart from tequila and whisky. Being vodka and Rum drinkers we decided to go out for the night.
