  A beautifully designed hotel with a unique historical charm. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the old town, with breathtaking views of the mountains.The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Special thanks to Drita for his warm hospitality, helpful tips, and deep knowledge of the hotel’s history, the city, and the country.Breakfast on the veranda overlooking the old town was unforgettable—great food and stunning scenery.   Very Good Traditional Hotel

  A traditional building in the old town center, with clean, and well appointed rooms. The AC worked well (a must on hot summer days/nights). The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was standard fare, well prepared and flavorful. We stayed in a larger room (206). It was well worth the extra fee. In summary, I would highly recommend.

  Why Not Stay in One of Gjirokaster's Cultural Landmarks?

  One of the main tourist attractions in Gjirokaster is the number of historic Ottoman Era mansions that are available for touring to get a sense of the culture and history of the city. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in one of these incredibly beautiful mansions, the Hotel Old Bazaar 1790. This hotel has been immaculately restored to its former glory and staying here was a highlight of our trip to Albania. We stayed in the deluxe king suite (Room 206), which was absolutely stunning, with intricately carved wooden ceiling and pillars, historically accurate furnishings, and eye-poppingly beautiful painted walls and fireplace. The room was huge and immaculately clean and we felt as though we had gone back in time and were the pashas of Gjirokaster! As an added bonus to our beautiful surroundings, the staff could not have been nicer and more helpful, especially Anila, who was absolutely delightful and shared her vast knowledge of sites to visit in Gjirokaster and current events in Albania. Because we had to leave early in the morning before breakfast was served, she made sure that we had coffee and something to eat before our departure. She was absolutely the best hotel clerk we experienced in our five weeks of travel through the Balkans. Anila is a treasure and knows how to provide excellent customer service. We toured a number of historic mansions in Gjirokaster, but none were better than where we were staying -- Hotel Old Bazaar 1790. If you visit Gjirokaster, which is an incredible destination, why not stay at this hotel and truly experience local history and culture. This hotel is not to be missed.

  True Albanian hospitality: best hotel in Gjirokaster

  This hotel has everything. It's in the center of the old city, it has GREAT breakfast with an amazing view, an amazing, traditional house and the sweetest/kindest staff!The staff have been so kind to help us when we needed anything from help with the tv or directions to the busses. The rooms are spacious, stylish and traditionally decorated and clean.We have really enjoyed our stay here, and when we come back to Gjirokaster, Old Bazaar will definitely be our first choice!

  I could t change this hotel with the best hotel in word. It was very clean, helpful staff, and during the stay there you feel like living in other epoque. Breakfast sufficient and wifi very good.I really recommend to everyone visiting gyrokastra
