    This hotel is in the back streets, smell of smoke at lobby and breakfast area, had moulds in the room, and dirty throughout the room. They also placed a heated towel rack INSIDE the shower with exposed wires. Who would want to place a towel on the wet rack inside the shower? No common sense and a safety risk.

    I came here as a solo traveller, half way through a 14 day small group tour of the Balkans. We had previously been to around 5 other Balkans hotels, and I've travelled extensively so know what to expect. I'm really not sure where all the previous good reviews have come from. I was initially welcomed by the female receptionist who advised me, when we arrived around 2 hours past check in time, that it was OK, my room was ready. (Well I would hope so). Upon entering my allocated room (201) I was horrified that it was smaller than a solo travellers ships cabin with a small window of around 60cms - the only natural light. We were supposed to stay here for 2 nights and it was supposed to be our "upgraded from 3 star to 4 star room". I then went to reception and told her I'd like the room thats actually advertised with photos on their website as a single room. The same arrogant receptionist argued with me for a bit then ended up giving me the right room after speaking to our tour company. This. hotel. is. not. 4. star!

    You can't review Eastern European hotel rooms with the same eye you might use when reviewing a Western hotel. They are different. The staff here was accommodating; the General Manager was very helpful. It was clean and welcoming. It had a nice outdoor courtyard to use. The room was very tiny. The AC does not meet western standards, so I opened my windows a lot. There is no parking - you will have to be dropped off. The single elevator is small. The morning breakfast was adequate but not elaborate. There is no pool or gym. The rooms have virtually no amenities like coffee makers, irons or ironing boards, etc. Some drivers may find it challenging to drop off here. There is a coffee shop across the street and there is also a small food market across the street. The hotel is well located. I might stay here again.

    Sar’ Otel - A pleasant stay in the centre of Tirana.

    I have recently returned from a hiking trip to the Northern Albanian Alps. A wonderful experience.On my return I spent time in Tirana, staying at the Sar’ Otel hotel. This hotel is in a cosy and central position close to Skanderbeg Square.The hotel is well managed and offers a quiet ambiance despite being in the city centre. The staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel stay was, in my opinion, good value. I recommend a visit to Albania - Good value and plenty of scenic options.
