    Great place to stay

    rating09 Apr 2025

Excellent hotel with friendly and extremely helpful staff. Room was spotless with comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast at the seventh floor restaurant was excellent with a fairly large buffet selection and eggs made to order. Had a very good wifi connection. We would definitely stay again if back in Algiers.

    An incredibly unforgettable experience

The staff are absolutely fantastic! They were so welcoming and so helpful. I lost my phone on the way to the hotel and they were so kind to let me use their own phones to contact my family members. They were so thoughtful and respectful. The hotel itself is amazing! It’s super clean and the breakfast buffet was incredible. I enjoyed my breakfast overlooking the breathtaking view of Algiers.

An excellent choice in the bustle of Algiers

    rating14 Jan 2025

I chose this hotel due to its excellent TA reviews.Note that Algeria is an Arabic and French speaking country. English is not widely spoken especially outside of the main cities. Cash is king - especially Algerian Dinars. I took euros and had no problem exchanging them for dinars, but not easy to use otherwise.Location - depending on traffic (and it can be extremely heavy) the hotel is approximately 30 minutes drive from the airport, and 15 minutes from the old town/port. There is a tram terminal / metro station approx 500m downhill from the hotel. The tram heads out past the great mosque into the coastal suburbs, but the metro heads into the city and old town. There are a few shops locally for snacks, drinks, fruits etc close by.Hotel - on the ground floor is the reception area, business area and meeting rooms. On the lower floors there are function rooms and a car park. On the 7th floor is the restaurant with superb views over Algiers Bay. In between are the floors with large bedrooms - some with the same bay view.Reception - the reception staff were wonderful, helpful and professional. Restaurant - I was on bed and breakfast basis, but chose to have the buffet dinner each night as well. The food and choice were excellent. I especially enjoyed the Algerian buffet night, and the fact wonderful local dates were available at each meal. The staff were brilliant. As I was the only ‘English’ guest in the hotel, I soon became known as Mr 206 (my room number). As I am on a walking stick, the staff were brilliant in helping me get drinks, food etc. Bedroom - located on the second floor (there are two lifts) my double room was large and well appointed - especially with kettle and a quality coffee maker. Ask the restaurant for Lipton tea bags if you prefer black tea. There is a large screen flat screen tv, but I did not find any English speaking channels (but that didn’t matter as I was out all day each day). The bed was very comfortable. My stay was for three nights. Honestly I wish I had stayed longer. Algiers is an exciting city, and The Lamaraz arts hotel is an excellent choice for a great stay.

    Hotel Terrible!

    rating03 Nov 2024

The hotel did not honour my payed reservation and kicked me out shamelessly. As opposed to some comments here I was given a miniscule room with little sea view room number 102. The receptionists were not helpful and lacked emphaty. The breakfast is basic, there is little to eat. There is no room service, no menu in the room. I had to go to the restaurant myself to find the worst fish I ate in Algeria. For 2000 dinars I payed they brought a collected fish from the dinner buffett. Side dishes were just disgusting. Some people claim above that hotel is near the metro. That’s correct , you can walk to the station in 5-6 minutes. But when you come back you have to climb two steep streets and two more even steeper stairs. So a lot of cardio after your visits. Better find a cab from the Amirouche metro station.I really don’t understand the positive comments about this hotel. It is the number 1 place to avoid in the middle of the marvellous and amazing city of Algiers full of charning people.

    Excellent hotel

    rating29 May 2024

We enjoyed our stay in this modern hotel between the city centre and airport. The room was a suite on the 6th floor which was well appointed with excellent panoramic views.Reception, restaurant and service staff were unfailingly polite. We enjoyed a sumptuous buffet one evening and breakfast was varied with eggs to order.A minor problem was the lack of any alcohol, partly due to local cultural values and the policy of the owners, nothing like a cold beer after a long and hot day touring! Just a thought for Algerian tourism authorities.Another problem with some rooms in our group was inoperable aircon, a major problem for lack of sleep.Otherwise excellent, thank you.
