  What a dump!

  What a dump. We were put in a room on the 7th floor that can only be described as a dungeon. No air con, one small window, outdated, falling apart rooms, dirty bathroom you name it. The staff were rude, the bar only seemed to open at certain times, communal area was hot and stuffy as well as filled with dirty glasses, cups and bottles. The swimming pool was cold, the food was always cold with no description as to what it was and there was no organisation what so ever. I have never stayed anywhere so bad in 43 years! I would NEVER stay again or recommend it to anyone.

  The hotel shows four stars on the sign outside, but possibly this would have been the case many years ago but it would not compare well to other hotels in across "la Vella".We came as part of one of two coach tours using the hotel, but the service was not able to handle so many UK visitors simultaneously. The rooms available were also very different in nature so some had different experiences. For example, not all rooms had air conditioning and the furnishings and bathrooms were varied.The hotel had a nice rooftop pool which was pleasant and a sun terrace.The food and drink offering was weak. Although there was a wide variety of food available at breakfast and dinner in a buffet style, there were no labels and the staff could often not explain what they were. Allergen information was distinctly lacking as would be expected in todays europe. The food and drink were only available at exact sitting times and nothing could be obtained out of those hours as would be expected in most hotels.The location was satisfactory, one could walk into the centre of town and it was also on the main bus route.

  Would have been better with nicer staff and better organisation

  We stayed in this hotel on a Shearings holiday for 4 nights. The room was really nice with a good shower, comfy bed and a small fridge. A hairdryer was included and a very good air conditioning unit especially with the hot weather. The towels were changed everyday and the bedding was changed every two days. As the holiday was all inclusive certain branded drinks were included between 9-11pm and it seemed you weren't limited by how many you could have in one go. The hotel is centrally located with all places within walking distance.The negatives were the staff were basically rude at meal times. There were two coach groups staying in the hotel at the same time and they couldn't handle it. The meal times were the same for both groups so it was bedlam at times. Cutlery was not available at times and there were no dessert spoons. None of the food was labelled so you didn't know what any of the food was. When you asked nobody spoke English and they just shook their heads and walked off but sometimes one woman could get aggressive and she was unapproachable. No ingredients or allergens were labelled which I thought was dangerous for someone with an allergy. They had two coffee machines and they practically ran out of coffee and no one refilled it. The queues were massive every morning and when you needed to go early for a trip it was not enjoyable as you were rushing.

  Parking disappintment

  We were on a 3 week road tour of France and Spain and had booked Alegria President, Andorra as it offered parking. We could not pre book parking and we were told not to check.in until after 3 pm. We arrived at 3 on the dot to be told they had just given out the last parking. We were told there was public parking a 10 minute walk away. We could not leave our luggage as it was scattered across the car.We drove to the parking, sorted our gear and the items we did not want to leave in a public space and carried our heavy load up the hill to the hotel. This was no mean feat as we're 74 and 75 , it was 30°, it was uphill and our bags were heavy. We had also just completed a long drive.The receptionist offered us a late check out but we did not take this up as the parking costs were per hour.The parking cost us 28 euros, irritation and energy we didn't really have.

  Pleasant, comfortable hotel.

  Stayed here for four days, with Shearings. lovely reception area, which always smelled lovely. The staff were always pleasant too. Two good, fast lifts. On first floor, very large room with a balcony. The room was really lovely, well decorated and with a huge bed, although the mattress was a little harder than I am used too (slept well, though). Very large three door wardrobe, good sized desk area, large shelf for my suitcase, useful fridge, small table and comfy chair. Good tv, with BBC news - the only English channel. Lovely ensuite. Good shower and huge soft towels. Couldn't get the aircon to work, so left my balcony door ajar during the day. Rather noisy overnight, as on a busy main road but I soon got used to that. Room was very clean, they even dust the balcony. 20 minute walk into the centre, but a pleasant stroll. Bus stops right outside the hotel. Very nice big restaurant. Food was very good. Big buffet with lots of choices. Excellent coffee at breakfast, No drinks available during the day. There is a cafe on the ground floor, but I never saw it open. There is a bar on the ground floor too. Overall, a very pleasant hotel and I enjoyed my stay.
