    Charming friendly hotel.

    rating14 May 2026

Family run and very friendly. Delicious breakfasts. The decor ( and decking) is a little tired but that adds to its rustic charm.Small warm swimming pool. The chalets in the mature grounds give much privacy for sitting on the verandah. Honesty bar. Only disadvantages are it’s built into a hill so lots of steps for those less able- bodied and its situation is away from the harbour area but as a result the views are magnificent. Many guests return, always a good sign.

Lovely Hotel, great location & value

    rating20 Apr 2026

I had a really enjoyable 3 night stay here in March. The staff & owners (Robert & Annie) are welcoming & really nice. The views from the breakfast terrace are lovely (see picture). It is only a 10 minute walk down to Nelson's Dockyard & less to restaurants in English Harbour. After reading other reviews, i was expecting a much steeper hill to come back up than it actually was - not ideal for those with mobility issues, but quite easy for those who don't.

A Rustic Gem Above English Harbour — Thoughtful Hospitality, Stunning Views, and Total Serenity

    rating28 Feb 2026

Ocean Inn ended up being one of those places that quietly makes a trip unforgettable.I tagged along on my partner’s trip to Antigua while he was preparing for the RORC Caribbean 600, and I’m so glad I did. Ocean Inn is a true rustic gem. Tucked up a steep hill above English Harbour (a built-in cardio workout every day), it’s just far enough removed to feel peaceful and private, but still close to all the restaurants and activity below. We stayed in Cottage 9 — simple, rustic, and exactly what you want in a place like this. It wasn’t about luxury finishes; it was about comfort, privacy, and those incredible views overlooking Nelson’s Dockyard. Waking up to that every morning was something special. What really sets Ocean Inn apart, though, is the hospitality. Annie and Robert are exceptional hosts — warm, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making sure you have a great stay. When my flights were canceled due to the blizzard back home (and JetBlue doesn’t typically fly midweek), they went out of their way to hold a room for me until I could get out. They also helped us immensely on the other end of the trip — when my partner’s team finished the race earlier than expected, they were able to get him into a room a day early without any hassle. That kind of flexibility and kindness is rare, and it made a stressful and unpredictable schedule so much easier to navigate. The breakfast each morning was a perfect touch — fresh, simple, and delicious — and the honesty bar was one of my favorite details. There’s something about grabbing an ice-cold Coke Zero or beer on your own time that just fits the vibe perfectly.Between the quiet, the views, and the soundtrack of tree frogs at night, it’s the kind of place you start missing the moment you leave. We’ll absolutely be back.

Lovely Stay at Ocean Inn Antigua

    rating03 Mar 2025

Stayed at Ocean Inn preparing for the Caribbean 600 Yacht Race and immediately after; perfect choice. Rooms were simple but very comfortable with a good bed, effective Air Conditioning. Rooms were very clean and tended every day. The basic room shared a bathroom (as advertised) but this was no bother. Good Breakfast served each day with plenty of fresh fruit, fresh hard boiled eggs, pastries promptly from just after 7. Easy 10-15 min walk to Nelson's Dockyard.Well stocked honesty bar. Most of all though, Robert and Annie were lovely friendly hosts who were happy to help in any way needed - e.g. looked after excess luggage during race; organised late stay/shower. If I went again would look no further for accommodation.

    Tough one to write

    rating14 Feb 2025

This is a difficult review to write. On the plus side, what all the other reviewer said about Robert and the staff is absolutely correct. They make it a wonderful stay. Couldn’t be happier with that part. And the hill, well, we’re now about 70, and frankly, had no trouble walking to restaurants up and down the hill. It was a challenge, but we need the exercise; and our legs felt it afterwards.. The property itself is definitely in need of a lot of work. The room was clean, but definitely a downer with a ll the work needed. Our room did not have a chair, so to sit we had to go to the outside breakfast area or inside the area where the food was put out. A bit inconvenient, but on the other hand, it was nice to be out in the tropical breeze on Antigua. From a value point of view, compared to other places, the place was definitely worth the cost; the location was great. Just wish the rooms had been more up to date. Would we go back? I don’t know.
