Located just opposite the Obelisk, the most significant landmark of Buenos Aires, the hotel has an excellent location and also offers easy access to a variety of sightseeing attractions such as the Plaza de Mayo, Puerto Madero, San Telmo, La Boca, Recoleta and others. It is only 35 km from the airport.

Facility

209 non-smoking rooms are located on 11 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas.     I arrived after 24 hours travel, with a prepaid voucher for a double room. I was tired and just wanted to unpack and get clean.Although I thought the room was small and barely big enough to accommodate two people, I didn’t think too much of it. It was only after taking my shower and noticing that there was only one towel, that I realised I had been downgraded to a Standard Single Room. There isn’t a huge difference but the double room is a little larger with better room facilities. When I returned to reception to query why I had been allocated a single room, I was treated disrespectfully and with hostility by the Reception staff, as if I should just shut up and stop complaining. Eventually they found a double room for me but did not apologise for having tried to cheat me or to offer to assist me in moving my belongings to the new room.The next morning I asked to speak to the General Manager to give her the opportunity to respond to my concerns and to put things right. Her response shocked me. Even when I said that I had identified the initial room, from her own hotel’s website, as a single room, she insisted that it was a double. I explained that I was not going to argue about it and only wanted to provide her with the opportunity to resolve my dissatisfaction at the treatment both initially and subsequently by Reception staff. Her response? “If you want to move to another hotel, that’s fine”. Well at least I am now clear about how high customer satisfaction is on her list of priorities! Shame, because it’s well located and although a bit dated, reasonably comfortable. Would I stay here again or recommend it? Not now.

    I recently stayed at Republica Globales and from the moment I arrived I was impressed by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. The front desk team was always smiling and ready to help.Vanessa, Rafael and the team went above ans beyond to make sure everything was perfect for me. The housekeeping staff kept my room spotless and the restaurant team made every breakfast feel special. I'm truly grateful for making my stay unforgettable. I would recommend Globales Republica to anyone who arrives to Buenos Aires and is looking for a place to stay :)

    Good location, stuff is not extremely friendly, but ok, room is ok, but there is no carpet in the room, just tiles. Breakfast is ok, although the cream cheese was terrible watery and tasteless, you should not even consider to give this to any living creature.

    Location, location, location!!!! We booked a room (#405) for 6 nights. We thought the location was amazing, and the obelisk was right outside our room so we could see everything from our balcony. Lots of activity in the heart of everything. The room was perfect for us, and very easy to walk to Casa Rosada, Plaza de Mayo, and around Avenida Corrientes. We did a lot of walking around the hotel area at night. The hotel is very close to the hop-on/hop-off bus pick up bus. We felt safe, and even though it’s in a busy area, the pedestrian walkways and street lights were great. Our breakfast and wifi was included in the price. Wifi was patchy in the room, and was better in the lobby, but it worked well enough for our needs. We thought the lobby staff was very helpful. They were able to call taxis for us, and arranged our transport back to the airport. I would absolutely stay here again. The only other negative we would mention is that the shower is a bit small.     Spent a week there while working in Argentina. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is excellent. Room was comfortable with a small fridge. Price was good. Many stores, markets and local transportation nearby.
