Requires major renovation but good for one night

    rating17 Nov 2025

Very old hotel. Spacious room that needs renovation. It saves us from spending hundreds of dollars the day that many of the hotels were booked up Julieta I, Marketing at Gran Hotel Buenos Aires, responded to this review Hello upsetcusst0mer123, thank you for sharing your experience. Dangerous - we were attacked in our room by hotel staff

    rating16 Mar 2020

I stayed here with my husband - we paid for 7 nights because the location was near his meetings. We are simple travelers, and we need only a place to sleep and shower - the real fun is in visiting a new city.At 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night, our 2nd night, while sleeping, someone working for the hotel burst into our room. They were uneducated brutes psychotically paranoid and afraid of coronavirus - even though we were not sick. They felt that, since we wore masks, we must be infected. They did not understand that we wore masks for everyone's protection. My husband ran to get the police, who were supportive but unable to do anything because it was midnight on Sunday. They helped us barricade ourselves in our room and we pushed the furniture against the door and huddled waiting for a new attack. The internet was disabled, so we were unable to contact the outside, nor could we use the phone as there was no directory. We were cut off, huddled in the room in fear, waiting for sunrise to make a dash for it and escape the nightmare. In the morning, as we escaped, the reception staff leared and jeered at us. My husband returned to ask for a refund but they refused. The manager never bothered to talk to us at all - he supports this sort of brutish and animalistic, uneducated behaviour. The hotel was run down - the plumbing did not work, the air conditioner was moldy, and the wiring was coming out of the walls. We had no television, no internet, and could not use the phone.I am terrified to return to Argentina - i hope that there are good people there, but I will never return to the country. The staff of Gran Hotel Buenos Aires are uneducated brutish animals.

    Do not stay here

    rating22 Feb 2020

Arrived around 11am first Impression was of a grubby Hotel in disrepair. We were given key to room 908. We struggled with the luggage into the lift .....both are a disgrace and would not pass health and safety check in UK. As we walked along corridor to room the stench of rot dirt and dampness was overpowering. The room was a disgrace. We got moved to 608 which was only marginally better. We considered moving but as we were pre cruise our time was precious. The safe in the room was not screwed onto anything solid so could be easily lifted away . No socket other than above bath for charging up phone etc Grubby , paint peeling rooms with dodgy electrics . Place is a health hazard. Photos on website bear no resemblance to reality. Breakfast meagre.

    Do not use this hotel

    rating08 Feb 2020

Room had filthy air conditioning unit, filthy overhead fan with broken light shade. Bathroom door spit and broken at the bottom, shower cubicle had mould and the shower head was filthy and covered in verdigris. Window shutters broken and covered in mould. Certainly not what I consider a four star establishment

    Wonderful Location

    rating06 Dec 2019

I arrived close to noon and asked if I could check my backpack before check in and the front desk agent proceeded to check me into my room no questions asked. That is some efficiency and customer service that I have come NOT to expect here in Argentina. So he won me over right away. The room was typical and clean, didn’t plan to spend much time in it anyway. The showers were hot and there were ample towels. I was in a corner room sharing only one wall and it was pretty sound proof. The location of the hotel is excellent and there are several museums, parks, and cafes close by to enjoy. The price was excellent and I feel as if I received tremendous value for my stay.
