    A solid choice for a stay in El Chaltén

    This is a solid hotel in El Chaltén, It has a mountain-y rustic feel in the main areas. The rooms are simple, functional, and clean. The beds are ok. The pillows are not great. There is ample storage for clothing and gear. Hot water kettle with instant coffee option. The hotel has a small pool, jacuzzi, and sauna and offers massages. Buffet breakfast is good and includes scrambled eggs and bacon. The front desk staff is helpful. The restaurant staff is very nice and on top of things. We ate at the hotel for dinner one night in search of a good salad and they were pretty good (choose the green salad if you want something more salad-y. I opted for the falafel salad and it was more falafel than salad). We noticed they had a small greenhouse type boxes with greens, herbs growing there which we believe were used at the restaurant. It is on the edge of town, very close to the entrance of Los Glaciares National Park. The hotel is big enough that there are tour bus groups staying there and coming in and out.

    This was a beautiful place. The view was amazing and the rooms were cozy and clean. Highly recommend this place. I wish we could had stayed there longer.

    Perfect location for the trailheads, very friendly staff

    We had a superior double room (101). The room was a bit old, but cosy enough and spacious. The location is perfect – it's only about 500 meters to the trailheads of the Fitz Roy/Laguna Torre hikes and the entrance to the national park.The reception staff was really friendly and helpful and gave us excellent advice regarding the hikes and trekking permits.Based on the reviews of the restaurant, we looked forward to dinner there, but we didn't find it all that special. It was OK but we had better food and more professional waiter/waitress service in other hotels in the area. The food was fine but not exceptional and the restaurant staff were friendly but we didn't find them super professional.Plugs require an adaptor (when you come from Denmark/Europe).The five stars I give especially for the friendly staff and location.

    Best Restaurant in Town - by far

    It’s absurd that this is listed at #21. If it’s not the best it’s clearly in the top 3. But what is most certainly the best in town is the restaurant. There are a dozen or so places on the main strip offering all the same garbage. The restaurant at Destino has a real chef and grows their own vegetables. It is certifiably good.
