  Lovely Hotel

  We loved staying here the lovely lady Cami y Nahue in the bar was the most loveliest person we met. She was helpful and talking in English with us very impressed. Food was amazing and enjoyed the Happy Hour with discounted drinks and a great view. .   Friendly hotel

  All the staff were friendly and ready to help in anything we need. The restaurant and bar served good food and wine. I should mention the Front Desk receptionist Estevan, who speaks fluent English and shared knowledge on local trips. We were much impressed. We would recommend this hotel and would like to stay if we go there again.   Great hotel and would stay again

  Stay here for 2 nights. The hotel is about a 5 or 10 minute walk from the centre of El Calafate and sits a top a small hill. Bear this in mind when walking back from town. The hotel itself doesn't look its best from the outside but once inside it looks fantastic. The lobby area is huge with plenty of seating and looks really luxurious. As does the bar, restaurant and spa area.The room in general was a decent size but was very warm with no air con so we had the window open alot. There was also abit of sewage smell as well in the room. Not noticeable after a while but just when entering. The bed was big and comfortable and the entire room seemed very clean. Bathroom was a good size and included everything you could want. Breakfast was include in the room rate and was a very good buffet, served in the restaurant.Overall i could not really fault the hotel and would happily stay here again.   Great stay in El Calafate!

  I enjoyed our time at the hotel. Clean and good rooms..it is located near the main street (walking distance). It has a good breakfast buffet! And a nice spa are thar I didnt get to enjoy.Staff was nice and helpful.

  Not the cleanest hotel - needs improvement !

  We booked our trip to Patagonia at the last minute, so options in El Calafate were limited as we specifically wanted to stay in town. That’s how we ended up at Esplendor by Wyndham El Calafate. While there are a few positives, overall the experience was mixed, and unfortunately I would not choose to stay there again.Positive aspects:The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the main street where you’ll find restaurants and supermarkets.The heating system works perfectly, and being able to control the temperature in your room is a big advantage after long days hiking in Patagonia.Having a kettle in the room for tea or herbal infusions is also a thoughtful and very useful touch.Areas for improvement:The biggest issue for us was cleanliness. The room was not outright dirty, but it did not feel properly clean—certainly not to the level where you would comfortably walk barefoot.The most unpleasant moment came on the first night when we discovered the mattress protector sheet did not cover the full mattress, meaning your feet touched the mattress directly. This was quickly corrected after we informed the front desk the next morning, but it shouldn’t happen in the first place.The window handle felt loose and could have come out at any time, which made us hesitant to open the window to air out the room.Because of the open lobby concept, noise travels easily through the hallways and up the floors. Early departures around 5:00 AM and hallway noise (including a crying baby) were clearly audible in the room.The breakfast buffet runs empty quickly. Two mornings out of three we found limited options and had to wait for replenishment. This is clearly not the fault of the staff, who were doing their best and appeared overwhelmed, but it does affect the experience if you are on a schedule.The smoking area is located directly near the entrance, below some rooms (including ours), which made opening the window unpleasant due to cigarette smoke.The water pressure dropped significantly when using hot water (at least in our room).There were two complimentary bottles of water on the counter and four identical bottles in the minibar. We assumed they were also complimentary, but they were charged. Not a major issue, just something to be aware of—buying water at the supermarket nearby is easier and cheaper.Most of these issues individually could have been overlooked. However, the overall cleanliness standard was the main concern for us and ultimately the deciding factor. For that reason, despite the convenient location, I would not stay here again.
