Bad experience at a Marriott Iguazú Falls. Do not recommend

    rating21 Sept 2025

Great staff.Mold in bathroom, old hotel, AC leaking water, min chairs at pool. Quiet neighbourhood. Surprised it’s managed by Marriott!!! Alejandra Cappa, Revenue Management at City Falls Iguazu, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback, Robert. We're truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. The maintenance concerns you mentioned — the bathroom, the AC, and the pool area — are not up to the standards we hold ourselves to, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We're glad our staff made a positive impression, and we'll make sure your comments reach our maintenance team so we can address these issues promptly. We would have loved the chance to resolve them during your stay.We hope you'll give us another opportunity to show you a much better experience. Warm regards, the City Falls Iguazu team.

    Disgraceful.. Stay somewhere else

    rating22 Aug 2025

This is one of the worst places we’ve ever stayed in and I can’t believe Marriott have their name attached to this dump.As soon as we stepped into our room you could smell the sewerage stench coming up from the wastes in the bathroom we nearly vomited immediately. The wall by the TV had black mould over it which is a serious health hazard . The whole Hotel is very dirty and run down . The breakfast bowls were all chipped and could not have been hygienic. The breakfast was also very basic and average. They did move us to another room finally but they mucked me around for one hour and we had no help moving all our belongings. Alejandra Cappa, Revenue Management at City Falls Iguazu, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for what you went through during your stay. The issues you described — the smell in the bathroom, the mould, the condition of the room and breakfast area — are serious concerns that we do not take lightly, and we are truly sorry that your stay was affected in this way.We also regret that the room change process took longer than it should have and that you didn't receive the assistance you deserved during that transition. That is not the experience we want for our guests. We have shared your feedback with our management team so that these issues can be addressed urgently. If you'd like to discuss your stay further, we warmly invite you to reach out to us directly. We hope to have the opportunity to make things right. Regards, the City Falls Iguazu team.

    Seek Elsewhere

    rating18 Jun 2025

The rooms and hallways are musty and it's winter. The bathrooms are mildewy and the walls are dirty, the lamps are rusty. I'm shocked that Marriot is putting their name on this hotel. They only give you one key per room and charge you $10 per key if you don't return the key cards. If you're American, you may want to stay away, as you may be accustomed to better standards. It's nice that they have multiple bed options for odd numbers of travelers but that's about all this hotel has going for it. It's also a bit away from the town so adventuring out to go to dinner if you don't speak the language is a little more challenging. Alejandra Cappa, Revenue Management at City Falls Iguazu, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the condition of the rooms and hallways during your stay — we know that fell short of what you'd expect, and we completely understand your frustration. We want you to know that we are currently undergoing renovations to address exactly these kinds of issues, and we're committed to bringing the hotel up to the standards our guests deserve. We're sorry your visit came at a moment when that work was still in progress.Regarding the key cards, we understand how inconvenient that policy can feel and appreciate you flagging it. We also take note of your comment about the location and language barrier — we're always happy to help guests with dinner recommendations and directions, so please don't hesitate to ask our team next time!We hope you'll give us another chance once the renovations are complete. Warm regards, the City Falls Iguazu team.
