Beautiful hotel, unfortunate circumstances

The hotel is in a lovely rainforest location and our room was well decorated and pleasant to stay in. We particularly enjoyed the terrace area with bug screens and a hammock to relax in. At check in, staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately our stay was made less enjoyable by a few things:1) cash went missing from our room (we reported this and the hotel made no attempt at compensating us for this)2) we were looking forward to a relaxing afternoon at the pool but this was impossible due to a large group of young children running around screaming and splashing a lot. Not at all the vibe we were expecting. 3) the transfer company the hotel use provides a good service but is comparably more expensive to other providers / options

Avoid this dangerous place !!! It is poorly maintained which led to floorboards decaying and collapsing causing injury . Staff disinterested and more concerned with chatting amongst themselves

Great Stay with Comfortable Rooms, but Expensive Late Checkout

We had a pleasant stay at La Reserva Virgin Lodge. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was very good with a nice variety. Overall, it felt like a relaxing and enjoyable experience.The only downside was the late checkout policy. When I requested just a one-hour late checkout, I was charged $100, which felt excessive and a bit disappointing.

I can't recommend this hotel. Rooms are adequate but restaurant and bar service was the worst I have experienced travelling for 1 months and 4 countries in South America. The bar served gin but had no tonic. No bar snacks by the pool that had families swimming between 6 and 7. Rude staff. There is a lot of options so I advise looking elsewhere.
