Great location. Very bad and basic breakfast.

    rating12 Jan 2026

The hotel has a very good location, very close to the beach. The staff at the front desk are friendly. Cleaning fine, but we didn't change the sheets in the 7 nights. Very bad here. Pretty bad breakfast. It's basic, salty foods and a lot of hard cakes are missing. The poor quality juice. With 20 min to go before breakfast there was no more yogurt and sweet stuff, no replenishment. The wifi is bad in the rooms and regular at reception. The room had no outlets to charge the cell phone. A reasonable hotel with friendly staff

I spent three nights at this hotel in April of this year. The room was spacious and serviced daily. The location was central on Calle Rivadavia.Staff were very friendly-I want to make a special mention of Gaston-and breakfast each morning was excellent.Staff were always available to assist me whenever I needed help, even organising a taxi to take me to the Bus Terminal on the morning of departure....I am happy to recommend this place...Good value and very friendly.

    Very Bad Option!

    rating30 Jul 2016

Not sure where to start with this one, it most certainly is not a four or five star hotel. It is more like staying in a run down college dorm, my recommendation would be boarding up like its sister building next door appears to be - or bring out the wrecking ball. Based on highly misleading pictures I booked in here over new year for over $200 a night. Firstly My room was a small box looking out over trash in central courtyard, and a fan is NOT air-conditioning. When your room is 26C and it is only 18C outside that makes for much misery. Breakfast I was told was excellent but was intact terrible - wonder bread, stale pastries and watery eggs so I chose to eat elsewhere it was so bad. The exits to the beach-side are all closed up, and the staff have a really bad attitude. Bar and restaurant were shut New Year's Eve so no options, especially as all of town is private party which is ridiculous. Moved room 2-3 times before I got an exterior one where I could at least open the window and get some reduction in temperature in the sweat box rooms. On my way out - finally, the elevator broke trapping me for several minutes en route to airport. All I can say is DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!

    Bad Central Location

    rating10 Feb 2016

Stopped here for 3/4 days late January (BA summer season). Picked this hotel (a reasonable looking; b) close to beach. I perhaps didn't do my homework enough on this. The hotel was very dated and required renovation big time; tatty stair carpets from reception up to corridors and rooms. Wallpaper had graffiti scrubbed off/painted out. The rooms were a throw back to 1960s, with décor and furniture to match. But I must emphasise; they were absolutely CLEAN ALL THE TIME. Wifi although free, tended to be hit and miss. Although it didn't suit us; the hotel location was right handy for all amenities; eating, shops, amusements, Bristol beach, the Casino etc. At night the road was closed and was turned into a 'peatonal' as street entertainers, chairs/tables, stalls set out their wares until 3 am! We know at our cost as we had a front room overlooking the lot! The breakfast was a buffet kind; and the choice a bit limited; no hot items served. Staff very nice though and can't be faulted. I realise it sounds extremely snobbish; but the whole place seemed like an Argentine 'Benidorm' without the English pubs. However, Mar Del Plata become a lot nicer as one strolled further north and south from our central location; it has a marvellous promenade; the beaches thinned out a little and became cleaner. I would return to Mar Del Plata albeit in alternative accommodation.
