    New hotel policies and management affects the consumer

    Hotel Fuente Mayor Centro, under new management, implemented new policies that affected our reservations oat their city center location. We booked two rooms through booking.com and reconfirmed the reservations directly with the hotel. Nevertheless, the hotel new manager informed us that due to booking issues, our reservations were moved to their new property at the bus terminal peripheral area, or we can cancel the reservations without penalties. Stranded and dissatisfied we had no choice but to compromise and spent the first night at the noisy busy terminal area and return to the center for the following two nights. Sadly, under new leadership, Fuente Mayor no longer provides superior service, cleanness and comfort declined too. However, I acknowledge the front desk and buffet personnel for their good service, I cannot say the same for the housekeeping staff.

    Hotel was in a nice central location and staff were pleasant. Most helpful was Gonzale Seqouvia at the front desk who assisted us with booking and giving helpful advice around the area. Gonzale deserves the 5 STAR rating!!

    Very poor customer service. Zero response to messages sent prior to arrival. Promised bottle of wine was simply a promise broken. Rooms EXCEEDINGLY small. WAY better options for the prices they charge. Breakfast is ok but to serve Nescafé as coffee is a stretch.

    We could not have asked for a better location with tons of superb bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Front desk was always very helpful and able to help with both English and Portuguese. Easy parking beneath the hotel if you rent a car. Breakfast was good but a bit limited. Room was ok—hadn’t been swept clean in a while with lots of dust bunnies. Shower was amazing—large rain head with plenty of pressure and really hot water. Bed was horrible—painful to sleep in, tossed and turned constantly trying to find some kind of comfortable position. Bad pillow didn’t help. Both my wife and I were uncomfortable so made for really tough nights. There are other quality hotels nearby—would probably choose one of them if/when we return to Mendoza.

    The rooms are small by USA standards, but clean and comfy. Breakfast was very nice and the staff very helpful. Definitely good value and we would stay here again. Rain head was the only shower head in the shower.
