    O.k. for a short stay overlooking the city

    The Altos Ushuaia resort is at the outskirts of Ushuaia at the road up the mountain. From there one has a very nice view over the bay and the city, but for me was far too far away from the heart of the city with bars, shops and restaurants, also since the hotel restaurant had limited choices for dinner. The hotel is a quite dated, and a renovation near-term would not harm. But the room was clean and o.k. for a short stay.

    Nice hotel but out of the way

    The hotel itself is nice with nice seating areas and a pretty dining room. But our room which was facing the harbour did not have a/c or a window that can stay open even when it rains to allow air flow. Also the hotel is up a steep hill with no local restaurants or cafes nearby. So we had to get a taxi into town which costs money and adds up.

    The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very nice and helpful. We had a superior room at the end of the hall that sleeps 3, so we had plenty of room to unpack our luggage. The hotel has a nice view of the channel. However, it's a taxi ride into town and back, so that limited our options somewhat. We elected to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was nice but nothing really special. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. The espresso machine dispensed great coffee; the brewed coffee offered with the buffet breakfast was awful. It looks like the rooms could use a little upgrading; the floor in our room was deteriorated. Also, the bathroom lighting was terrible. This is a good hotel for one night (our case), but we would not recommend for a stay of several nights.

    The location is a 30-minute walk from the city center. The view is great, but that is about it. The room was spacious but very outdated and could use an upgrade.The breakfast is very boring, mostly cakes. There are toast, but no toaster. However, if you ask the staff, they can toast it for you. It could easily be improved. We had dinner one night, it was mediocre.

    the hotel is on the outskirts of the town (10 mins taxi drive from the center) on the side of the mountain ( hence the great views over the Ushuaia bay)walk down is a nice 25 mins stroll, going back it is better to hail a cab/Uber ( easily done)staff is friendly and rooms are large ( not particularly modern)breakfast could be improved in both quality and choice
