Lovely stop for lunch and a hike (or a dip in the pools)

    rating01 May 2026

This was a lunch stop as part of a cruise. The buffet was extensive and the quality impressive. Look for the window to the parilla where various meats are being cooked over embers. The ambience and view are excellent. The hotel is perched on a hill in a park overlooking Ushuaia, so it provides a more self-contained experience. The road up the hill is rough. You can walk around the park or attend the spa that has indoor and outdoor pools. “Unfortunately, only one night. An excellent establishment that meets the required standards. Shuttle service to the city center. Staff on par with the quality of the cuisine.” Arakur Ushuaia, Propietario at Arakur Ushuaia, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we hope you can come back soon.

Beautiful views and a lovely hotel

    rating01 Apr 2026

We stayed here for one night in a superior room as day one of our Antarctica expedition. The hotel is perched up high on a hill overlooking the town and bay, the views are beautiful. Our room was spacious and very well appointed with a bath in the vanity area and separate toilet and separate shower. The amenities are nice and everything you need is supplied. The bed was comfortable and the aircon/heating worked well and was quiet. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the hotel facilities are great. There is a nice pool area and the lounge, restaurant and bar spaces all have large picture windows to take in the view. They provide a free shuttle bus into town and back, it takes about 20 minutes each way. Most shops don’t open until 10am but there are some cafes and supermarkets that open earlier. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant but we got burgers in the bar which were good. Wine by the glass is expensive so much better value to buy a bottle. This is definitely a great place to stay in Ushuaia for a little bit of luxury. Great true 5 star hotel with amazing service

    rating08 Mar 2026

A great 5 star hotel a bit away from the city center which we liked. From the moment we got there everyone spoke English , gave us great service and looked very happy to work there unlike other places we visited on this trip. The restaurant onsite had great food and even offered Kosher food and Meat since we keep kosher. All in all by far the best place to stay while in Ushaia. A bit of luxury in Ushuaia - but beware the cruise groups

    rating14 Feb 2026

We loved this hotel. It has international levels and standards of high class hotels. The leisure and spa facilities are very good, the location is stunning, the restaurant is good without being expensive (and the wine list exceptionally reasonable) and the rooms (we treated ourselves to a premium suite) are fabulous. The location is unique. High above the city with terrace and restaurant views either across the Beagle Channel or over to the Vicinguerra Range (and glacier that we trekked to). The views from the suite were magnificent...so high, so panoramic. It might be 15 minutes by car/taxi to town but that's the price for a stunning location. The room/suite was great. Large, comfortable and well equipped. An incredible view from bedroom and lounge - a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and room service meal (also excellent). The bedroom was very comfortable- as you'd expect. A giant bed!Bathroom split into 3 - separate rooms for shower, bathroom and toilet. All around a small hall/dressing room. Toiletries a reasonable quality. Towels big and fluffy. The restaurant provided lovely food - local and international at very reasonable prices and wine at a surprisingly fair price - so we indulged.Breakfasts were maybe an area for improvement. Just a little dull. The only a la carte/fresh dishes cooked to order were eggs. And why does every hotel on the planet have poor toasters? The common lobby areas are big and modern. Open plan bar area took full advantage of the great views. My only complaint/warning that as this is 'the' hotel, lots of cruise companies use it. It can feel as though a cruise takes over the space very easily and swamps areas of the hotel. Particularly annoying when tour managers think that they have special privilege on behalf of their guests. However this was never an issue for the restaurant. Staff are well trained and efficient. It feels a little impersonal describing them this way, but that's what big international hotels are like. They were good at their jobs!Overall we loved it.
