  Sleepless in Ushuaia

  Convenient location, only 2 blocks uphill from the main tourist street. Be aware of the steepness of Ushuaia as it may explain why cheaper accommodation is further up the hill. Hotel is very dated yet hot water was excellent. Very clean and good complimentary wifi. Downside if your room (like mine) is near reception, front door or the stairwell (3 level hotel) as this place hosts large tour groups as it's a circus except between 2.30- 4.30am and after check out time 10am. My requeqt to change rooms on day 2 of 4 night stay was declined but a later check out to request to catch up on much needed sleep was acceptwd after detailing my situation in an email. Reception staff make little or no effort to keep voices down after 10pm. There's no tea/coffee facility or bar fridge only an electric kettle up on level 3 where breakfast is served. It consists of cheese, ham, jams, butter, toast, sweet (facturas) and savoury pastries (bizcochos) , 1 cereal and usually choice of 1 fruit. If you need breakfast before 7.30am you must self cater the day before. Breakfast room (which you can access throughout the day) has great view over the channel although nearby construction currently involves breaking of bedrock which can be heard within the hotel. I'm unsure of when it's due to finish. I'm unsure if I'd stay again despite the location and price. Having 24hr reception was a double edged sword.

  Services at the hotel were really nice, they were nice and helpful at the reception, and the hotel is very centrally located However, the hotel is very worn. This is the first time we have been cheated on review stars. This hotel is NOT 3.5 stars. Immediately think that the floor must be cleaned. But the walls are really dirty and the room is really worn. Sheets and towels appear to be clean, but they are just old. The heating is switched on once in a while and then runs at full pressure, so that it becomes almost unbearable to be in the room. But in return, the heating is turned off at night, so it gets cold in the room. The view from the breakfast restaurant is really nice. the breakfast is small but actually okay. But they cannot cope when many people want to eat at the same time

  Good but Basic Hotel

  This was a good but very basic hotel. The rooms were small but clean, and it was a good value. It was up a steep hill from any attractions. The main highlight was the great view from the top floor, where a light breakfast was served.

  Small room not very clean. Hard beds. Looks like a dog slept in the bed. More a hostel then, a hotel. But nice staff and it feels safe. Location is ok but all hotels are in the center. it is ok for one night. L would not book it again but it is ok for one night before the ship,

  Very basic hotel. Don't expect much and it's okay. Room was clean.Breakfast is continental.We had a sewage situation were the room was flooded, hotel management handling of it was very disappointing and poor customer service. Location is 5mins down the hill to main street.
