    Never again

Worst hotel ever, located in a shady neighbourhood, 40 minutes walk to city centre. Dirty rooms, facilities falling apart, and owner accuses you of vandalism. Breakfast very poor. Not recommended. A shame for Ushuaia.

Great spot, a little out of town

    rating24 Feb 2019

This place was relatively small, but cosy, very well kept, clean, comfortable with great and friendly staff. The breakfast was nicely varied with good coffee and fresh bread, beds were comfortable, shower was good although it was over a bath/spa. The only minor point is the distance out of town centre (previously mentioned) , walking took about 20 minutes, downhill and quiet difficult to get lost. Coming back was a different issue and after getting lost in the rain, we generally took a taxi back, about AUD$4 and worth it for us. We had a couple of problems with our travel arrangements and the staff/owner could not have been more helpful with sorting this out. If you don’t mind a bit of a walk which is interesting and has many route variations, we can’t recommend this place highly enough.

    Could be better

    - the breakfast is ok and one staff is helpful- I think the most important is that I am still trying to get refund from a double charge and it is impossible to have them refund me after a few emails. When I called, I got hung up because I don't speak Spanish. I contacted booking.com but no response from them- All the staff don't speak English.- The room was over-heated, impossible to reduce the temperature (I had to sleep with the windows open)- I had to ask the help of one employee to turn on the hot water and she doesn't feel happy to help- I had to ask the same employee to pay a few times and didn't feel happy to help as well

Friendly staff, simple rooms, slight odd room mix up

    rating08 Feb 2017

The hotel is fairly simple and a bit faded and bashed around - some broken fittings in the room, a leaky bidet in our bathroom, but the room was clean and the bed comfy. Yet again the room was incredibly hot - and the design of the hotel made it hard to sleep with the window open. But the staff and owner (I think) of the hotel were incredibly friendly and entertaining. We had a rather odd room mix up on our return from a hiking trip and ended up staying at another place round the corner for a night - I'm still not sure what happened, it was a bit annoying, but to be fair to the hotel they apologised profusely and covered the cost of our laundry by way of recompense as well as leaving us a bottle of wine in our room as an apology. They also were happy to provide plates and cutlery for people to eat in the dining room given that there are no restaurants no by, although there is an excellent homemade pasta place (for takeout) just around the corner - be warned it is not open on a Monday. The walk to town isn't too bad, and the area is quiet and with nice views up to the mountains and then over the channel as it is up the hill a bit. Basic yes, friendly definitely.

    Nice, but far from town.

    rating22 Jan 2017

It was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights, but it isn't cheap. The room was nice and clean, and we had a bathroom to ourselves which we liked. The breakfast was decent, although a lot of sweet pies which seemed slightly incongruous! The owner speaks no English so it's difficult to communicate about laundry etc. It's about a 20 minute walk from town, possibly 30.
