    Great location and beautifully appointed.

I loved the location and the room was spacious, clean and quiet. Each floor had the most spectacular ceramics (I think they were Italian) at the lifts. Service in the restaurant was 'iffy' and I was charge around $1.50 for honey in my tea.

It’s the staff who make this hotel special!

We stay at the Hotel Grand Yerevan about four times a year on average, and why? The staff are so warm and welcoming that we always feel right at home there. We’ve just spent another 1.5 weeks there on a last-minute booking, and if there hadn’t been a room available, we wouldn’t have gone, because as well as being a lovely, high-quality hotel, it’s above all the staff’s service that makes our stay here feel like home, even for our two-year-old son.

Not that luxurious for a five star hotel

The staff were friendly and professional on arrival. I arrived early in the morning and they kindly sorted me out a check in for 11am. Unfortunately, this room was dreadful. Small, dark and with an ugly view. The little area outside was used as a staff break area and it was terribly loud and smelt of cigarette smoke and grilling meats. Avoid 217! I politely complained. I was told there was another room that would be ready in 4 hours. I was tired from travel and knowing I would be moving rooms, I couldn’t settle. I got the call to move rooms and my next room was internal facing but much better. There are no USB charging points in the room. The shower water came out orange at first but ran clean after a minute. The worst thing was breakfast on Sunday morning. It was busy with no space. Fine. But no staff member approached me as I stood there. I had to gather my own breakfast to make my way to the lounge / bar area. I noticed other families / couples were helped with staff fetching and carrying for them. Not me! I had to ask several times for a coffee. I just wasn’t impressed. It felt more like an Ibis because of the lack of preemptive service. Breakfast was okay. The coffee gave instant machine vibes not artisan. There was cheese, fruit, pastries etc and hot dishes like eggs and hash browns.Room service was okay and I had a couple of nice meals.

    Good place in great location

This hotel has a great history and is perfectly located. It's a 10-minute walk to the city's central square. It's not exactly new, but it's in good condition. The breakfast is excellent. The only downsides were the noise outside and the slow elevators. The staff was very polite and helpful.
